From a young age, Marcy Purdy found refuge and great comfort through diverse forms of artistic self expression.
Her refuge became her calling. Her life purpose. To express and heal through art.
With degrees in Special Education and a Masters in Art Therapy, Marcy incorporates multiple creative modalities to express and heal oneself.
With a career spanning over 30 years, she has pioneered art therapy in Vero Beach,
An avid artist and self proclaimed water baby, she fell in love with the Japanese traditional art form of fish printing, “Gyotaku” which combined her love of ocean and art.
Marcy is very active in the local artists community having owned Art Space Gallery in Vero Beach 30 years ago, in 1985.
As a qi-gong instructor, she finds the beneficial physical effects of regular practise seep into all aspects of her life.
In the spirit of qi-gong being the Chinese movement for healing, balance, well being, inner peace, connected energy, the wheel is come full circle.
Art on 18th is a contemporary pop-up gallery, featuring different mixed media artists each month.
Marcy is well respected as a public speaker who looks forward to facilitating multi media, creative, expressive workshops in the future.
A member of the Cultural Council of Indian River County as well the Main Street, Vero Beach, Art of 18th is right in the heart of Vero Beach's emergent diverse, sought after art community.
Feel free to come by each month during Art Stroll, the first Friday of each month in Main Street, Vero Beach, Florida
