We came here from Texas with the goal of getting our artistically gifted daughter accepted to the DASH school. Sending our daughter to Mr. Igor at the Sofia Art Academy was the best choice we could have made. We were late to the program but Mr. Igor helped our daughter work on an accelerated schedule to build her skills to create an art portfolio in time for the schools deadline for portfolio submission. Thanks to Mr Igors' guidance our daughter was was accepted to both DASH and NWSA. We will be eternally grateful for his guidance and belief in our daughter. Cant wait to see what her future holds.
Teachers are outstanding. My daughter is learning technique and it shows in her drawings as she is preparing her portfolio for upcoming high school auditions. As a mom what I like the most about this place is the flexibility to reschedule, even if it’s last minute changes.
Highly recommend. My daughter is there for 6 years and her drawing level is very advanced. Any art oriented college’s doors are open for this level. She also won Florida state competition for the digital art.
I'm very happy that my son Gabriel's now attending Sofia Art Academy of Miami.. He was so much struggling while trying quite a few art studios in South Florida. Before we moved to Miami he was studying drawing and painting with an art professors from Europe in NY, and we knew it'll be a challenge to find the right art teacher for him here. However, fortunately at Sofia Art academy he found a perfect environment, with their formal program that constantly challenges him as he grows as an artist. The owners and their stuff are extremely professional. They brought their experience and knowledge from old Russian art academies and generously sharing it with their students. The level of their expertise is superb! My son wants to apply to Parsons School of Design to become a fashion designer. We trust that Sofia's art portfolio program They have many years and great record of placing students to the best art colleges! will prepare him for the school of his dream!
In the ten years I have been in this country, I've never come across a school that fits my needs as perfectly as Sofia Art Academy does. I've found no other place where I feel so at ease and enjoy learning so much. The days on which I have class are the best days of my week —even when I am working on a project that is difficult or challenging! One of the things that matter the most to me is to know that my teacher is as passionate about art as I am, and he takes my craft and work seriously while still making the classes enjoyable and not intimidating. The learning environment is fun, positive and focused, and it's evident how much Igor cares about each student. I've gained a lot of confidence since beginning my studies a few months ago and already find myself understanding concepts that seemed impossible before, which has given me more confidence in my art. I should add that I've been working as a professional illustrator for ten years and went to other private schools in my country. Yet nowhere else was I taught the basic and invaluable concepts of Classical Art that I am learning at Sofia Art Academy. You can benefit from learning here regardless of your level of experience or skill. While the tuition is not cheap, you definitely get your money's worth and beyond, especially if you compare the cost with that of a college where you will not get the same quality of education and level of individual attention you get here. It's hard to put a price on that and it makes a huge difference in the end results. Just by going to this school once a week my life and career went into a much more positive and determined direction this year and I hope to attend for several more years in the future. Finding it is one of the best things to ever happen to me and I recommend it to anyone!
I wish I could have taken classes at Sofia's longer! I looked forward to it every week. Igor is the best teacher I've ever had and I really look up to him. He really teaches you the fundamentals of art in a way that you can understand and he gives good criticism. I've always loved to draw but he really helped me refine my skills. He has also helped put together my portfolio application for Parsons. I'm really happy to have studied here and you will be too.
Sofia Art academy will push you to develop your skills with a great team and a fantastic high level artistic process and standards . My child is developing her talent with their help beyond expectations and Igor and his team were instrumental in preparing her for a successful audition to MAC . Check their website and you will see the Art created there! We are so lucky to have them close to us.
If you are looking for good quality art classes, this is it. Before the Academy opened in the area, my family and I looked everywhere for art classes that would help me get to where I wanted to be. The search took me to various locations throughout Miami, but every school ended up a disappointment; the classes were overcrowded and they did not help on a one-on-one basis. The teachers were skilled, but the environment and the way they operated was obviously in the interest of business and making profit, not education. I soon found out about the Academy about a month or so after the Miami branch opened. I wasn't sure what to expect considering all that I have gone through for nothing worthwhile. In the end however, I signed up for the course. I have been going to the Academy for almost three years and what I've learned cannot be properly summarized. The improvements I've made spans beyond my artwork; I've gained a new sense of confidence and love for what I do. The small class size and location makes it ideal for someone like myself that cannot concentrate in large crowds and noisy places, The teachers, who are all very,very skilled, are there to help you grow. Profit is not the priority. I fully and completely recommend it. I have no regrets.
One of a kind experience!!! Beautiful space and so much fun for all levels and age groups! You will never look at art the same way again. Enjoy!
