Artist's Corner began in January 2019 as a special gallery in the Highlands Museum devoted exclusively to local artists. Artist's 18 and older are welcome to submit entries to be displayed in the gallery which rotates on a quarterly basis.

This place is awesome. I love WW2 history and I really liked their display and would love to see it grow even bigger. I liked the personal touch they added from Ashland/Boyd County area and the war efforts. Definitely learned a lot and will definitely be back. They have a huge section for kids to play with themed areas like boats, space, shops like McDonald’s, and a food store and several exhibits for everyone’s tastes.

This museum is a hidden gem in Ashland, KY. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth a visit. The museum feautures great exhibits connecting local history with world history including exhibits on manufacturing, railroads, barges, World War II, Frontier periods, fashion, and country music. There is also an entire level that is a kids museum for the little ones that includes exhibits on space education, aviation, and frontier life. Finally there is a gift shop for your souveneir needs. This place is very well done and worth a visit!

My family of five and I have used this venue for kid birthdays for years now. It has never disappointed. The entire basement is up for grabs and lots of birthday themes are offered. Loved loved loved! My 8 & 10 year old had a blast. Large variety of exhibits. Country music, world war 2, Native American, and then the children’s exploration area. It’s not a large museum however, for the price, customer service, entertainment, and location it’s a fun stop!

Great little museum with lots of local history. Super fun learn and play area downstairs. Our kids could have stayed there all day

The new kids discovery center is still under construction so the very old play area is still usable but dated can't wait for the new area. A great place to take the kids!

Great place to spend a few hours teaching your kids or yourself new things or a little more about things you already know some about! Great staff along with great prices!
