Downtown’s exquisite, gold-domed Old Town Hall houses the Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum which showcases Boca’s unique history through exhibitions, historic photos, tours and programming. The Historical Society also sponsors Boca Bacchanal, a community-wide wine and food festival, in March of each year.
Anyone seeking live performance will find an abundance of venues right in the heart of Boca Raton. Boca Ballet Theatre presents 13 performances annually in addition to offering classical training for dancers and choreographers. The Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia provides professional classical music featuring nationally and internationally acclaimed conductors and soloists.

Additionally, the Schmidt Family Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park presents a variety of music, dance, theater, film and children’s programming in the Count de Hoernle Amphitheater. Its annual Festival of the Arts BOCA is a magnificent two-week celebration of music, art and literature. The Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters at Florida Atlantic University offers more than 30 concerts, 10 plays and dance productions, several exhibitions with local and national artists, lectures and many other special events throughout the year.

Lynn University Presents hosts more than 50 performances which include the world-class faculty and students of the Conservatory of Music, the well regarded Philharmonia Orchestra and the theatrical excellence of Libby Dodson’s Live at Lynn.
People of all ages additionally find a wide variety of live performances, films and literary events offered by The Levis Jewish Community Center. Not to be overlooked is the Sol Children Theatre Troupe, the city’s only not-for-profit children’s theatre, bringing the finest of theatre classics, classes, coaching, concerts, camps and much more to South Florida families.
For those interested in the visual arts, the Boca Raton Museum of Art presents changing exhibitions of national and international importance, and a wide range of educational programs, lectures, gallery tours, an artists’ guild with a membership of more than 250 local working artists, a studio art school with more than 100 classes offered each week and an annual outdoor art festival featuring 250 of the nation’s top artisans. Its permanent collection includes a superb assembly of modern masters including works by Degas, Matisse, Picasso and Seurat, an outstanding photography collection and important collections of Pre-Columbian and African art.

The Women in the Visual Arts showcases the work South Florida artists with quarterly exhibitions, provides scholarships to female college students and brings art into public schools for early learners. Families can include everyone when visiting the Children’s Museum of Boca Raton, an interactive educational institution offering multiple family-oriented events. Also for the youngsters, the Children’s Science Explorium located at the Sugar Sand Park Community Center is a hands-on science center designed for children ages 5-12 with fascinating interactive exhibits, programs and camps.
Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, a coastal and marine preserve includes living wonders from the ocean, such as exotic tropical fish, sharks and rays, a butterfly garden, observation tower, winding boardwalk through coastal hammock and a new sea turtle rehabilitation program.
