The Legacy
Ary-Belle's Kitchen and Bakery is inspired by the late Fairie Belle, my grandmother. To me, Ary-Belle's Kitchen and Bakery is a legacy and a vision. From the tender age of 7, I remember my grandmother would cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner religiously. I wasn't allowed to do much while in the kitchen but observe. But I knew, that what I saw, I liked and I wanted to be a cook just like my grandmother. Fairie Belle was THE house chef. Holidays were always big! Her desserts were finger-licking, lip smacking, melt-in-your-mouth-delicious! I can remember waiting around to receive the left overs of her delicious cake batter! I am salivating now just thinking about it. She would always put her heart into everything she made. She made people feel good inside just by the mere taste of her food. Til this day, people are still reminiscing about the food Fairie Belle prepared over the years. My grandmother has been gone for almost 20 years and her legacy still lingers in the hearts and minds of the people because of the love and passion that she added to each dish served. Call it comfort food, soul food or family food, whichever way you call it, I called it grandma's food. These are the memories of my grandmother that have planted seeds of desire and aspiration for the vision that I have today.
The Vision
I have been in the food service industry for almost 20 years and I think it's time to follow my dream. My vision for Ary-Belle's Kitchen and Bakery is to offer a different variety of healthy options, comfort foods as well as freshly baked goods all in one visit. I want to be able to cater to a diverse background of people, offering gluten free, organic, and vegan dishes. I desire to offer something that no one else is offering in our city. Preferably, a one stop option for that mom on the go, someone who is on their lunch break and has limited amount of time to eat, and possibly that someone who needs a quick meal without going too far out of the way. I want to offer a mobile catering service that is capable of cooking and catering on site at various locations. I want to offer more than the ordinary fried dough, burgers and sausages. I feel that Springfield is in need of change. I am that change. I have written the vision. I have made it plain. It will come to pass.
