I am 84 years old and put off total knee replacement for over 2 years, because I am way beyond the statistics for life expectancy. Who would want to go thru this painful surgery and then die,?? So, because I'm still here, I am going to tell you about Dr. Cowley! I am highly recommending him. He is a skilled surgeon. He does a battery of tests prior to scheduling you for surgery. Then each of your doctors have to sign off stating that you are well enough to have the surgery. You are given a date. The Three Rivers Hospital was fantastic and I also reviewed them. This is a very serious surgery. I am 2 months in and I still have knee pain and swelling. This is probably due to the fact that my knee was cut completely opened up to remove the arthritic joint and replace it with a bionic!! knee! I would really like to meet the people that I was told by some that went to work a few weeks later or were walking just great! I am still in pain! However, every day gives me new hope! In a year, I hope to be pole dancing! I have 3 friends that he operated on within the past few years and they walk just great! Dr. Cowley has a team of people that work with you. The PT home health comes into your home 3 days after surgery. They monitor for infections and or any issues. B T way, you cannot go home and be alone for 7 days unless u have a caregiver. You cant go to a recovery place because of the fear of covid or infections. After home health ends, you get to go to PT therapy. I go to Asante PT and Alan Harper is my guy. He is very caring and compassionate and everyone that works there are most professional! However, you have homework and you have to do it! I do not like the exercises, they hurt! but you have to train this new knee to get to the place where you were long ago when you were young and vibrant! Dr. Cowley's nurse, Heidi,is always available to answer any questions and I pestered her, a lot! I went to 3 stores recently too many. I have had to scale way down! And you have to eat well fast food is not eating well and do the exercises. At this point, my friends get to hear me complain but they still seem to like me. In about a year I will make a new post after I pole dance to let u know my progress! Please pray for me that I am still alive! All joking aside, Dr. Cowley is your guy for knee replacement. Do not believe any negative posts. I would happily recommend him to my own child. Best wishes, Corinne
I was really impressed with everyone that works at the clinic. And Dr. Nugent was very kind and very informative about my condition. Very pleased with him.
This is the first time I have left one of my mom's doctor's appointments angry, and I have been to many. Dr. Cowley was incredibly rude and condescending. He talked down to both of us and made it seem like my mom was overreacting about the pain she was feeling. He made her feel terrible about herself. The nurse tried to sell us on how wonderful he was, almost discrediting the experience we had. She was not in the room and did not hear the way he talked to us. My mother and I are not your "honey" and you have no idea what my mother has been through. Learn to talk to people more compassionately.
Very disappointed and upset! Staff and Dr Ziegler were very nice but someone dropped the ball and failed to follow through with getting approval for surgery from my insurance company. Got a call to cancel my surgery day before it was scheduled to be done. All this after several office visits and pre op appointment that was 1 week before the scheduled surgery. NO ONE wants to take the responsibility and they blame each other. I also had to take 2 weeks off my job to get this done. I will probably lose my job over this. I’m very unhappy......
Left my 72 year old mother in horrific pain in a substandard care facility because they failed to respond to the care facility's request for a pain script after a complete ankle rebuild!! Multiple requests for needed pain meds for an elderly woman who had just had major surgery is unconscionable. No drug abuse or drug seeking history,no reason whatsoever that pain meds were not administered other than sheer incompetence. Will be contacting medicare and the better business bureau as well as whomever else might be able to ensure this never happens to another patient.
Upon arrival at reg. Desk, a lady ask me "Do you have a leash for your dog?" My reply, "Mame, He's my service dog and is not required by law to have one!!"..BOOM, She got a stepping. Then when I was in exam room waited over 15 minutes to be seen...I left. We make time in Our Lifes for an appt time, and it must be met!!
Dr. Nugent , the nurses , anesthesiologist were very nice and really professional . I’m blown away by Dr Nugents skills when it comes to orthoscopic surgery. He has the gifted touch ...by far top notch in my book . If I ever need anymore work done I will not think twice about going back to see them . Thank u guys very much .
Dr. Daniel Cowely is amazing. He listens to you and your concerns. I could not ask for a better orthopedic physician/surgeon! Thanks Doctor Cowley!
Dr Wieking and Amy are compassionate professional! My care has been stellar! I am truly grateful.
