LaTonya R. Askew is the founder and managing partner of Askew Law & Associates, LLC. Ms. Askew is originally from Portsmouth, VA, and has resided in the metro Atlanta area for over 25 years. Ms. Askew is a highly regarded and seasoned litigator. She uses a combination of courtroom prowess, and strategic judgment to vigorously represent each client. Ms. Askew has a broad range of experience litigating cases in federal and state courts involving issues of family matters, criminal concerns, personal injury, and civil actions.
Ms. Askew has successfully litigated child support modification cases, child custody matters, legitimation matters, complex divorces, domestic violence cases, contract disputes, and various criminal matters.
In addition, Attorney LaTonya Askew teaches the following courses: (1) Intro to Criminal Justice, (2) Perspectives in Criminal Justice, Corrections, (3) Police In America, and (4) Police Administration at Kennesaw State University.
Before starting Askew Law & Associates, Ms. Askew spent 5 years interning as a law clerk working for such organizations as the Orlando Police Department Legal Advisor’s Office, CNA/ Commercial Insurance, and Florida A&M College of Law.
Ms. Askew began her career as an associate with Dansby & Associates in Atlanta, and Greg T. Bailey & Associates in Douglasville where she worked on many legal issues, including criminal, civil, domestic, personal injury, bankruptcy, wills, & trusts.
Ms. Askew has a BA in Political Science from Georgia Southern University with a Minor in Africana Studies. Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Personnel Management from Troy State University. Juris Doctorate from Florida A&M University College of Law.
Attorney Askew is a member of the American Bar Association, Dekalb County Bar Association, Gwinnett County Bar Association, Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), and Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals.
