Scheduled this appointment a month ago get a call the day before my appointment to be told that they don't accept my insurance. When I spoke to the women on the phone i explained to her that lady that I asked if they accepted my insurance before I even scheduled the appointment. Her response was that they don't know what insurance we take. Not to confident in an office to work on my teeth when they can't even give out the correct information. You should probably inform the people who schedule the appointments so this doesn't happen again.
I'm sharing based on my experience. I had total extraction and the addition of temporary dentures during the healing process. That part hasn't been enjoyable whatsoever, despite their effort to make the transition pleasant. The mere thought of enduring 6 months of inability to consume solid foods has been exhausting. The healing process has meant that regardless of their attempts to have a secure fit, it's short lived. This is my experience and regarding the experience I've received from Aspen they've gone above and beyond what I would have ever expected. I do anxiously look forward the day I am once again able to consume solid foods without bulky dentures flopping around in my mouth. My only words of advice to anyone considering extensive dental work is do not use the financial service they will provide to pay for services. The final charges with interest would have almost doubled the quoted cost of the dental work
Edit #2- I called the corporate help line, I got the same response, "oh I will put another ticket for refund in, we're a little behind..." It's approaching 2 months since these scammers took my money and I received no services. That's theft as I see it. Looks like I need to press charges and talk to the States Attorney. The place is a scam, they took over 600 dollars from me for a pre-payment for an appointment that was cancelled. Been over a month with no refund. I get the same response from the incompetent staff we submitted a ticket to corporate and won't actually look into it more. Their computer systems are always conveniently down. No wonder it's a ghost town when you walk in there because they don't answer the phone. I would give them minus 5 stars if it were possible. EDIT: Krista, I have made 2 attempts in person to rectify the problem. I have tried to call the office, no one answers. How about looking into the problem and calling me...I get the same reply "We submitted a ticket" I wanted to talk to a manager, that never happened.
Ok, so full transparency I haven’t been to the dentist in a little while. This whole experience was a trip from top to bottom but in a good way. The young woman at the front desk helpful and delightful. Every person I came into contact from the initial first contact sorry I’m blanking on some names to the gum specialist Shika and the dentist. Everyone was patient respectful and had accommodating warm attitudes which I especially appreciate in a vulnerable moment like that. Thanks everyone
I have had an AWFUL experience at Aspen Dental. I’m wondering if their google reviews were paid bots because I can’t imagine anyone raving about this place. First of all, their front office staff SUCK. They look at you and treat you with such contempt that you would even dare to bother them with checking in or asking any questions. Any question I asked made her look at me like I was the biggest idiot in the world and was simply wasting her time by existing. Background: I came in for tooth sensitivity after a crown was placed by them months ago. I go to check in, and the receptionist tells me my visit will be $150 - before I am even seen. This is all PREPAYMENT. Personally, I don’t understand how they can tell me how much my visit will be if the dentist hasn’t even looked in my mouth to tell me what I will need to do. I digress. I then ask why it will cost that much, as insurance should cover it. She answers, annoyedly, “for X-rays”. I tell her I had X-rays just a few months prior during my previous appointment and would like to opt out. She stares at me, sooooo annoyed that I DARE not just shut up and give her my credit card. She looks over to another receptionist, silently waiting for the receptionist to feel her eyes on her and turn around. It was so awkward. She didn’t even ask the other receptionist for help, she literally just stared at her back until she turned around. The other receptionist finally noticed and said, no, it’s not 150 for X-rays, it’s 107 for an appointment. I once again said insurance should cover it, and they once again dismissed me saying I was wrong. I felt MAJORLY judged and awful about even asking, so I finally handed over my credit card against my better judgement. After sitting down in the waiting room, I got the courage to walk up and tell her I really think there has been a mistake. I have my insurance information right here if she wants to look at it. Once again, nope, I’m an idiot. I ask for an itemized receipt and she looks at me like she wishes I would drop dead right in front of her. She gives me the most confusing receipt in the world from ALL of my visits ever to the dentist, not just this one. I sit down to read it, and finally decide to trust my gut and cancel my appointment. I go up to cancel and tell her I would like my money back and to cancel my appointment because I am uncomfortable with the situation as it should be covered by my insurance. I told her I would like to sort out things with my insurance before I pay that price. She cancels and tells me I will see a return in 5 business days. Whatever, awful experience but I leave. Now it has been over 2 weeks since I requested my money back. Nothing back. I call and each time they tell me they have to wait for their manager to come in to do anything about it. I ask when their manager will come in and they say they can’t give out that information. Bruh. I never make reviews like this, but I am at my wits end. They don’t even ask for my name when I call. That’s how little they care to solve the problem. I called my insurance and yes it should have been free. I went to a different dentist after this bad experience and yes, it was free. I don’t even understand WHAT Aspen charged me for. All exams should be free under my insurance. So they lied somewhere and scammed me for money. SUMMARY: This Aspen is a money hungry company who will just scam you and wring every dollar from you. Their front desk team SUCKS and leaves you feeling belittled and stupid. They have no empathy to people nor understanding that money is tight for everyone right now. 100 dollars is a lot of money! But they don’t care. This company only sees you as a walking wallet. They are plain rude with their attitudes and the front desk staff truly ruins any positive experience you may have.
I was charges over $2000.00 for a cleaning and an extraction. Then they proceeded to triple debit my bank account the first month. I felt good and was made to feel comfortable during my physical visit. But was shocked to get the bill and find that I had used up my 2000.00 during 1 visit. Was actually 2125.00. Just to get an extraction and a cleaning. No followup care.
They would get 5 stars if not for their office manager and staff. Back in January or Febuary i needed urgent care. Made an appointment for a broken and painful tooth. First the company set me up with an office in Glen Burnie which is rediculous as i live on the Eastern Shore in Wicomico County . So i reschedule and the woman says to me that was nonsense and she looked at what was availible. I end up with an appointment i have to wait 3 weeks for and its in Easton Maryland. I relent and take the appointment because i am desparate for help. I finally get in and see a wonderful dentist who says i can either have it pulled or have root canal. We choose extraction. I go to set it up and the office manager says we will get back to you. I never heard from them. I have called 4 times to set up an appointment for march to no avail being told each time they would call me to set something up. They are the most inefficient and useless dental company i have ever dealt with. I am going to have to go out of network and get it pulled. It is now May and i have never gotten an appointment with a surgeon only excuses and empty promises. They should be fired. It is absolutley inexcusable to let someone go like this and to lie to them and ignore them . Its not like i wanted help for free ! I am a decent hardworking paying customer. Screw you Aspen You really are deserving of no stars if not for the wonderful dentist i had. Hope someone fires the lot of you.
Excellent! From beginning to end, the staff at this location we're so pleasant, hospitable, and professional. I was bought to the back by a wonderful assistant who took some X-Rays; she made sure the process was smooth and that I was comfortable, and then she took took me to see the doctor. The doctor said at first that they had me down for only a check-up, but I explicitly told the lady who made my appointment that I wanted to do a cleaning as well. But, it was no problem at all. The doctor got me in for a cleaning even though it wasn't in her schedule. She was so thorough and practiced the utmost professionalism. At the end, the assistant guided me to a quiet, waiting room where I could wait to check out. It was very nice. When I was checking out, they said they weren't sure what my insurance was going to cover, which was weird because when I was giving them my insurance information over the phone they said it should be no problem. Thankfully, I just got the bill in the mail and my insurance covered all charges! I loved it here. However, I live in Salisbury and only went here because that office didn't have any upcoming openings and I wanted to try and get in before the end of the year. So in the future I will be going back to Aspen Dental, but just a different office location.
Staff was amazing. X-ray techs were fast and accurate. Dentist was soft spoken, thorough and very knowledgeable. They gained me as a new patient today because of my experience.
I do love this place. Yes its expensive because I don't have insurance but what dentist isn't! I get reminder emails and text about appointments and they are fast to get work done you need. As bad as my smile is I was so embarrassed but everyone in the office was very friendly and ready to get your smile back for you! The hygienist ,doctors, assistants down to the office staff are just the best most pleasant people I have ever encounter. Especially for myself being scared to death they are bringing my smile back to me and my health and I couldn't be more thankful! If you ever go I hope you get to check out with Kim she is the bestest!!!
