Great spot to visit for free and no fees or lines... Must say it's better than snow play...
Great, outdoor fun. Make sure to bring multiple snow boards. The cheap ones are fine no more than $20bucks, it'll be worth the fun, especially if you have kids. However adults will have lots of fun as well, that is why I highly recommend more than one snowboard the round plastic disc ones sorry am not a professional lol hope this helps
Amazing spot! No need to pay $40 a ticket for snow play. Lots of hills and a bunch of space. You’re guaranteed to find a spot for your family to sled and build snowmen or have snowball fights. Be careful with parking too close to the snow/melted ice. Saw a couple of cars getting stuck. Just take it slow and you’ll be alright
Nice hike once you leave the picnic area. The Signs are a little space, so take a visitors map from the hotel or wherever. We hiked in fog and snow so didn't see any views, but they appeared to nice on a clear day.
Amazing spot to play in the snow in Big Bear Lake! There are countless areas that make for a perfect sledding course. We had our own private spots to sled throughout the day - even with so many people there that cars were overflowing from the parking lot! There are many picnic tables and spectacular mountain views. They have multiple portable potties. We didnt use them so I cant comment on cleanliness. They didnt seem to smell when we passed though. Next time I might stay at Oak Knolls because they are right across from the park.
Get here Early !!!! Not much parking for such an amazing spot ! Great for kiddos its free snow play area so thats good. Has bathroom on site. Cool spot to rc in the snow as well as rc rock crawling
Free snow play for the family. Really nice park. Beautiful scenery. Perfect for bomb fires or carne asadas. Nice for a family outing.
Went here for a trail that starts at the Aspen Glen picnic area and ends at a point called Grand View Point. The whole trail was almost 6.5 miles, 3.25 miles one way to the Grand View Point. There are a few spots during the hike that have a really good view of the Big Bear Lake and mountains. Trail rating is medium. Not too steep and not too difficult. Do carry enough water along as there is no water available on the whole trail. Come prepared for the snow and low temperatures during winter. It's slippery on the snow in winters and a good grip sports shoes are recommended. Parking is sufficient at the picnic area and the whole picnic area and trail looked clean and well maintained. The trail is also sufficiently marked and it's easy to follow without getting lost. Pets are allowed at the picnic area as well as on the trail......!!!
You have to go to a local business or the visitor center BEFORE you get here. You cannot pay for parking here and there is no other way to park in the area. It is a cheap $5 pass, but wish we would have known before we got here. Everything else was great!
We went on a weekday which was less crowded. Plenty of snow and hills to sled down. You can purchase a pass to park at any store on the area for $5, the places with rental gear usually carry these permits. Great place to come if you have kids big and small.
