I recently switched my primary care provider to Dr. Karen Locke at Aspen Valley Primary Care. Physicals are such an intimate hands-on experience, and Dr. Locke was the perfect balance of professional and personable, she put me right at ease. I felt like I had been her patient for years. I highly recommend her.
I had severe vomiting & abdominal cramping. Visiting in Aspen had a PPO Ins., went to AVH. They performed an appendectomy- symptoms only got worse after returning home. Was at AVH from midnight til 4:30 in the afternoon.. $36,000. bill… GI Drs. back home said, ‘they missed it’ - didn’t think I needed the surgery - filed a grievance- nothing came of that. Insurance refused to pay- have been making regular payments - billing dept. turned me into collections. Disappointing on so many levels -
The absolute WORST billing department you will ever encounter. I have been going back and forth with them for MONTHS and they are incapable of submitting documentation to my insurance company. This is literally the simplest claim a routine annual exam but they are incapable of doing their job. A shame since I like the hospital otherwise. Avoid unless you want to spend months of your life dealing with billing.
Great hospital, the most Friendly hospital staff I have ever met
Another AVH fail. I went in for a simple blood test and was told no one had ever sent in my info for insurance pre-approval. I was told it would be over $1K out of pocket if my insurance wouldn't cover it so I walked out. You are way off from your achieving your mission: "To provide extraordinary healthcare in an environment of excellence, compassion and trust." What a joke!
Billing department separate from hospital fraudulent practices be warned they will send a bill to debt collectors and never use your insurance even after they claimed they did also they won’t send you the bill it just goes straight to the collectors.
I just broke my elbow and have treatment in Aspen Valley Hospital. I did a CT, and they cooled my elbow with an ice bag, and then covered it with a gypsum bag. The experience is nice. But a few weeks later, I received a bill for about $2852. I checked the EOB with my insurance company. In the bill, there is a procedure called surgery$1550, with CPT 24675, for which I never had there. If you have the same experience as I did, please sure they don't overbill you.
I recently went to the ER out of shear desperation because I could not get in to see my primary care physician. I suffered from a severely impacted ear canal causing great discomfort and dizziness. The ER doctor on call could not even clear my ear because they didn’t have the appropriate instruments. They basically sent me on my way for me to wait until I could get in to see my primary care doctor. I had an extremely miserable 2 more days because of that. There is no excuse for this kind of treatment.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! i visited this hospital with basic flu symptoms last year. they put me in the waiting room for an hour. did not manage to come up with any confirmed reasons or conclusions whether it was a flu after asking me 30 mins of questions and charged me $500 for a final piece of advice of "just take some rest"! they sent the bill only through mail 3 months later, without any email or phone notifications. and the girl from the billing office line service sounded impatient and rude. WORST HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN THE WORLD :
The billing departments are separated and the process is very convoluted. I have a health assistance agent who found the hospital was often sending things outside of my network - when they had in network options. The radiology department sent my bill to collections instead of me. It's a horrible experience, even when it's someone's full time job to help. Just received another collections call from a bill “paid in full” in February. A true nightmare dealing with the billing departments.
