Not a good experience trying to book my yearly exam which is due every three years. Lori's attitude and disregard for patient care were missing from the conversation. Lori told me that it isn't her fault that my doctor left and that all the rest of the doctors left. Lori also stated that the practice is unable to notify patients of the discontinuation of care. Maybe all of the doctors left to get away from Lori...unbelievable
I've been going here since I was a teenager and even though I no longer live in Waterbury, I still schedule my yearly check up here. Dr. Vodra is amazing. I don't know what I'm going to do when she retires! However, I will say with the recent restructuring it's been a bit chaotic administratively. Currently, the phone number isn't even working
I’ve been going here for years, and during my pregnancy got to meet all the doctors there. Every one of them was wonderful and supportive. Some of the clientele is kind of low class and I’ve listened to the receptionists deal politely with very rude people. They always greeted me by name and were friendly and helpful. Definitely an amazing practice. A lot of one star reviews from anti-maskers. Obviously Associated Women’s Health actually follows sound scientific medical practices. Another plus!
The staff here is rude and unhelpful. Happy to say I found another doctor elsewhere. Do NOT go here. They know nothing about being professional.
Rude , inconsiderate staff . Do not go here if you want adequate genuine support through your pregnancy . They will answer the phone with a nasty tone , leave globs of gel on your pants and skin and rush your appointments during ultra sound scans and checkups . They will reschedule you without letting you know to random days and times. Horrible. So grateful I am switching to UCONN.
I have been going to associated womens health for a number of years. All for routine exams. I have to say, they are always busy and dont always remember who you are. I found out I was pregnant in Feb. 1st one I called and made an appt to confirm the positive test. The nurse that helped was very nice and personable. I was 5 weeks at that point. I made 2 more appointments 1st ultrasound 8 wks and 2nd for the nurse/dr visit. The ultrasound sound tech was okay/nice. She is not the most personable. Because of COVID, my husband was not allowed in. I heard my babys heartbeat and she said that it was very strong. A week later I saw the nurse/dr and they did a regular exam, and everything seemed great. No concerns. I scheduled a blood work appt. for genetic testing and the gender. At this point I was 11 weeks. I planned on telling my entire family at Easter. Which we did and it went great.. I noticed some dark spotting Easter night and had some minor cramping. I called the the answering service and Dr. Cohen called me back. Not my normal dr. He said that he wasnt too concerned but want me to come in tomorrow Monday. I came in and saw another doctor when your pregnant, you have to see every dr in the office. This was the first time I saw this one. Very nice and also didnt seemed too concerned. He used the hand held heart dopplar, and couldn't find a heartbeat. So I was taken into the ultrasound room so he could find the heartbeat, and at this point i could tell there was something wrong. He said to me that he wasnt completely familiar with the machine and he was going to order a ultrasound for today. The women Lori and Maureen at the front were very nice and asked me to wait for a minute so they can find me an appointment. She came to me and told me to come back in 45 minutes. I arrived back with my mom and husband of course they couldnt come in. I was brought back to the ultrasound room and it was the same tech. She told that my baby had died within the week after the 1st ultrasound. At this point I would have been 12 weeks. She brought me into another room and told me the doctor would be in to talk to me..Again, by myself..20 minutes later still no doctor!! I walked out of the room and down 2 hallways until I found someone sitting in the middle of the office area. I said to them, if someone doesnt come see me now, i am walking out of here right now. They all knew what just happened. Finally another doctor who I have never had any interaction came in, explained what had happened and what the nexts steps would be. It was either go home and take the pills or schedule surgery, but I dont know when the next surgery date would be.. who says that? Talk about being prepared!! I have been walking around for 3 weeks with my baby still in me. Again bc of COVID I chose the pills..she never really explained what was about to happen, she only said that it was going to be painful, and didn't prepare me for what I was about to endure. We got home and I decided to take the pills in the morning. It took 12 hours for the pills to do what they were supposed to do. I didn't leave the bathroom for 3 hours. The next day i received a phone call from the doctors office called during their lunch break, so i couldn't call them back until after 1. The phones get shut off..really? She finally got a hold of me after playing phone tag, and wanted to tell me that it was a girl but she had Turners syndrome and thats why I miscarried. I started to ask questions but she told me that i could ask the doctor those questions next week when i have my virtual with him. She said she was sorry but never asked how I was doing, if the pills even worked, if I ended up in the hospital...Not 1 person checked on me the entire time. I wasn't even scheduled for another ultrasound to make sure everything was gone I have already found a new doctor, and when i told them what happened, they were in complete shock. Please reconsider going to this office. Out of all the staff, the drs are the least compassionate.
I’ve been here for many years and seen multiple different doctors for various reasons. Always very kind and helpful. The 1 star reviews are from people who are angry that this office complies with the CT state law that mandates masks in medical facilities. Every medical concern I’ve had has been treated with the utmost respect and care here!
I’ve been a patient here for several years and never needed anything but routine exams. That is, until a month ago when I discovered I was pregnant with what would have been our first baby. My experience with this office thereafter was HORRIBLE. Granted we’re all in masks and unrecognizable. I’ll give them that... but it’s so obvious that they’re a baby mill with a revolving door. They always ask your name and birthday. For what exactly?! They never look at your file. Each time I gave them my information, they asked if I was pregnant or why I was there. Is there no record keeping at all?! I was at 6 weeks when I started spotting. I went in for an internal ultrasound and was told all was ok. I even got to hear my little lima beans heartbeat. The next day it got worse and I was cramping. I didn’t want to think the worst and I decided to keep working. As the day went on I called this office 4-5 times and their girl Brittany just kept saying they would call me back. She had no personality or empathy at all. Even worse, she had the nerve to cop an attitude with me when I told her that I believe it’s urgent. I called one last time a half hour before closing and got the answering service where eventually I demanded a doctor call me back. He did and said that what I was experiencing was merely side effects of the ultrasound. I calmed down and went back to work. 3 hours later I was in the ER. No more heartbeat... It was a very painful experience physically and mentally. They made it worse. I HATED the fact that I had to go back for exams and bloodwork. I was just another masked face and number to them. I decided to call in advance and tell them about my loss to spare myself having to say it in the waiting room. I still ended up having to disclose that I had a miscarriage upon my arrival as the desk personnel asked why I was canceling future appointments. I’ve been going back for tests each week for bloodwork. I was told I would be able to stop as soon as the pregnancy hormone was negative. I looked so forward to this closure. However, not only did they NOT call me when the test displayed negative... they booked another appointment for me, drew more blood and ONLY THEN and ONLY upon my request did they look up my file to see that it was unnecessary because I was already negative the week prior. The nurse laughed out loud and said “What a waste!” ... and then began placing the blame on me that I didn’t know. “Don’t you check your email?” she asked. The worst part of it all was my talk with Dr. Cohen after it happened; particularly the part where he said “you were barely pregnant.” This office as a whole is entirely de-sensitized and would be shut down if I had my way. I’m finding somewhere else before we try again. You should too.
Ok so after my gyno retired who was the best ever, my general DR. Suggested them for a normal routine visit. This dr looks like he’s fresh out of med school and was EXTREMELY ROUGH AND RUDE!!!! I will not be going for my mammogram tomorrow or anything else. Thank you for all your reviews!!!
Your practice should be ashamed. I guess taking an oath to take care of patients has flown out the window. Not treating someone bc they choose not to wear a mask that doesn’t stop any airborne virus or Coronavirus as it states on the box. WOW!
