I must say, Astoria Nursing and Rehab has always been true to their word when they say "Your Comfort is our priority". My Uncle's first time to experience to recuperate in a Nursing and Rehab facility, and being his family we were very skeptic. Little did we know, he was and is very pleased with QUALITY care he gets. My uncle was supposed to be discharged but he decided to continue his stay for further rehabilitative service. Astoria really did a fantastic care overall. THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF OF ASTORIA NURSING AND REHAB! You really are THE BEST!
I was only here for a few minutes, but do not take your loved ones here. The staff is rude to visitors and patients. A sad excuse of a facility. My mom said there was an old man that begged her to take him out and let him escape out of the facility because they treat him really bad. They “lost” a shipment from the hospital that my grandpa needs in order to breathe and said they can’t do anything about it and they can’t contact the person who signed that they received the shipment because it’s “not their problem”. The outside nursenot from the facility in charge of checking up on my grandpa was yelled at by the workers when she questioned the staff. They gave my grandpa a gas tank that didn’t even have oxygen and didn’t change it until the outside nurse said something and demanded them to change it. Most of them treat you really badly and are not emotionally sensitive to anyones situation. They look like they hate their lives and I get it but it doesn’t excuse their treatment to others who are going through a hard time especially if your loved ones are close to passing away. The place looks so dirty. Based on all of these observations and experiences, I hope this place gets investigated because who knows what goes on daily.
This place is horrible Don’t bring your loved ones here please . The staff the nurse the receptions Juan are unprofessional. We had to pull her out she was scheduled for therapy 3 times a day not once did they give her therapy. Took them 3 hrs to change her diaper . Really mother &$ . They don’t follow there guidelines straight bull shifters all the way . Stay away from this place our mother means everything to us . They don’t deserve any stars .
Between my mom and step mom, I have been to many nursing homes in the San Fernando Valley. In my opinion they are all bad but if you have to choose, this is one of the best places. Yes, the furniture is old and the place is run down but so are all of the other places. No, the staff is not overly friendly. They look like they hate there job but will smile at you if you smile at them first. All I can say is, you must visit often and ask questions about your family members care. Most places like this will neglect your loved one if they don't have anyone visiting them and keeping an eye on there care. This place is the best of the worst.
My surgeon told me there are two kinds of rehab. A diamond and bad coal. Astoria is the diamond on many levels. I have not seen staff there that isn't positive and more than willing to be of help to you. The physical trainers have real world patience for the patients. The food service is excellent and willing to work with you. It is just an excellent chock for rehab in the Valley.
Short on staff and towels, is an ok place. Some nurses are good and others are not. Will keep an eye on the place and service. Always check the place , they have 3 beds in some rooms and that’s not right!’our love ones need privacy and peace
My experience of Astoria is that the service they provide and the 98% of the people that work there are outstanding! They have above average follow through and when I have made requests with regard to my mother's care they are pleasant and accommodating. I highly recommend them and am immensely grateful. Keep up the good work.
I had to bring my mom to this god awful place due to her medical insurance coverage..all I can say is this place is depressing cold out dated and dirty the medical staff seem to be somewhat ok a few very cold and inconsiderate . But definitely unprofessional while I was checking in my mother I witnessed a few of the medical staff making fun and making jokes about an elderly lady who had sever dimentia. A nurse named fatima and a filippo nurse that I believe was a nurse supervisor laughing at her. If I was wealthy and didn't have to rely on the medical insurance I would have her at home do not do not do not bring your loved one here this place is a hospital prison not fit for anyone they should shut this facility down
These nurses & doctors at this facility if you can call them nurses and doctors are horrible. all they want is to collect money and watch your loved ones die. DON'T take a loved one there.
the best place in the world . all the stuff are wonderfull very clean and beautifull place . love it.
