I went in for a tour and the facility was very clean and well organized. It smells like food when you walk through the door. Upon arrival the main door is LOCKED. They would have to buzz you in great start we were giving a tour by what I now know of as the Assistant which I thought was the director but she never introduced herself until the end and the director never introduced herself at all and she was up front as well. Bad start & finish I like the small classrooms, student to teacher ratio and the fact that the parents can have access to see their children through cameras at any moment your child is there huge plus. The assistant was friendly but she wasn’t “giving” what I was looking for, so that I felt comfortable leaving my child there so we will try a different Montessori. Also there was a diverse group of kids which I love
My five year old has been going to AMS for the last three years. We started him in the three day a week program and have really been impressed with their progress. He is is about to start kindergarten and there is no doubt in my mind he is extremely prepared for it. Ms. April is his teacher and we absolutely adore her. Her communication to the parents is quick and efficient. On his very first day in her class she sent me a quick email on her lunch break just letting me know that he was having a great day and had made two new friends. That absolutely calms a mothers heart to get a mid day update like that! My three year old has been attending here for a little over a year and started out in the toddler class and was switched to the primary class once he turned three. His teach Ms. Vanessa is phenomenal. She is patient, kind, fun and firm which is exactly what he needs. When my son started here the communication from the admin was extremely lacking, but over the last year a couple new admins started at AMS and the communication has been greatly improved! Overall I highly recommend AMS and if you can get your kiddo in Ms. April or Ms. Vanessa's class you will not regret it! Also, Chef Dottie prepares wonderful snacks and lunches for the kiddos each day. This has really improved my kids willingness to try new foods at home as well!
My Daughter has attended Atascocita Montessori for 2 years and my son started 2 months ago. My experience has been nothing but amazing! The teachers are some of the best in the business. They have experience, patience, amazing control of their classrooms, and are certified which makes a huge difference in my opinion. My daughter at 3.5 years old is already reading and my son at 19 months can sing the entire alphabet in sounds! The things my kids learn amazes me! The food provided to my kids is fresh and healthy which was a huge deal to me. All the staff at the school are very helpful. The teachers even meet with the parents regularly to walk through the child's progress. This school is the reason I can go to work without worrying about my kids and not feel guilty for leaving them. They love the school and are learning so much. I cannot say enough good things about this school!
Our son has been attending Atascosita Montessori since he was 3 years old. We absolutely love this school and his teacher, Ms. Vanessa! We love the montessori concept as it has allowed him to continue learn and progress at his own pace and Ms. Vanessa continues to challenge him with new lessons. I appreciate the structure that the school provides; our son has became more and more independent in the past two years. He loves going to school every morning and looks forward to seeing his friends as well as being challenged academically. I would recommend this school to any parent who wants to give their child a head start.
Our daughter has been attending Atascocita Montessori School since she was 18 months. My husband and I are very pleased with how much she has learned. We notice how much she knows from her explaining what she did in school and what was taught for the day. The only adjustment we had to go through was moving our daughter into the next class level. Once she became comfortable she started interacting with others without a problem. Our daughter is now 4 years old and every morning she cannot wait to get to school to play with her friends and see her teacher.
My 4 year old son has been going to Atascocita Montessori for about 2 years now and we absolutely love it! He is learning so much from this school. He is academically above where most 4 year olds are and it is without a doubt because of the unique curriculum the montessori schools offer. The staff is very friendly and helpful with whatever requests the parents have. It is obvious the teachers care about their students. My son enjoys going, loves to be with his friends and has to hug his teacher every time he leaves to go home. We have had a great experience!
We switched our 3 year old son from a Primrose school and wish we had done so sooner. Ms. April and Ms. Gabbie are amazing with the class! Either of them can EXTREMELY QUIETLY ring a bell and the entire class stops what they’re doing and their attention is on the teacher. The teachers speak to the children so calmly and the students respond so well, it’s wonderful. There is so much structure and support in the class. My son has loved going to school since his first day, August 1, 2019 and has NOT had one bad day. He has not picked up any bad habits from classmates which was a problem at primrose.
All of our children have attended Atascocita Montessori School. We've enjoyed the variable structure of the classrooms that allows each child to focus on what interests them most - one of my children likes kinesthetic activities best, so he gravitates to those options. Another preferred math, so he would gravitate to those activities that challenged him he is still proud of his work on the thousand board. My youngest likes a little bit of everything, and he has much to choose from. The children do have general classroom material that they work on overall, but the structure of Montessori is flexible to accommodate a child's interests within the classroom. We love Ms. Ray and Ms. Vanessa - Ms. Ray really helped focus my middle child and taught him to be a voracious reader; Ms. Vanessa has been marvelous at helping my youngest child to mature and do challenging work. We are grateful to have had such a nice environment for our children to learn to love school.
I have twins currently at Atascocita Montessori School before this we had our now 12 year old there. Our older daughter did so well that she was able to skip Kindergarten. She is now in middle school and is such a independant, well balanced child. The girls have been there for 2 years. We have been so pleased with our experience. The classroom enviroment is very loving and peaceful. The academic program is excellent. They look forward to going to school everyday. It is amazing to see how the Montessori envrioment works and all the things they learn to do for themselves. We encourage everyone to go in and take a look at the school to see Montessori in action yourselves.
I have had 2 children attend this school over the last 4 years. I have been very pleased with the pre school education they have a received while still maintaing childhood fun. My children learned reading, writing and math at an higher rate over their piers. They gained better eating habits from the family style lunch service. They gained many practicable abilities such as using scissors, tying shoes and cleaning up after themselves. In my child's room discipline was excellently maintained keeping the atmosphere happy, fun and safe. Almost everyday my children learned something new and they always had fun. If I had any more children I would not hesitate to send them to Atascocita Montessori. Our experience was only in the classroom of Ms. April who I find to be an extraordinary person with the patience of a saint. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
