Atchison Hospital

I don’t know how this place can call themselves a hospital, I was supposed to go there for an x-ray today that was ordered the day before and all set up but when I got there I was told they don’t do x-rays on Saturday! And they said there was no order by anyone? Liar! Then who called me to ask me to be there by 10:00 am? I’m ashamed to say I was born in Atchison Ks.

Nursing Staff in the emergency room doesn't care rude, and stare at you u down to the point they are very rude where u want to ask where the hell there look at and whisper comments to each other about patient . The doctor is nice but all around bad experience with everything

Well currently in er waiting room with a friend that is bleeding from a cut that is not clotting and it as been 25 mins since check in and I'm sure glad she isn't over bleeding as this is ridiculous.

Let me start out by saying that the emergency department is phenomenal. I've been there myself and with my children. We have always been met by Professional caregivers. But let me start on with the primary care side.. Laurie Is extremely disappointing especially when we are met by her laughing at me after I asked a question... extremely unprofessional and childish. Dr Leck was arrogant and seemed offended when I asked about my child's pain. I'm changing doctors, and will happily drive further not to see Laurie's unpleasant face again. ZERO STARS.

I just had hernia surgery. I had three hernia's repaired. The whole experience as far as them caring about me or my feelings and aftercare has not been good. The time before surgery was rushed. I had tons of people all trying to talk to me at once while putting an IV in. Which they had to try three times. Still all while asking questions. But I think the worst part was after I woke up. I was rushed out and in pain. They gave me a pain med I told them wouldn't work for me. I ended up having to call the ambulance because the issues I had after taking it. When I told them, they didn't give me anything else! Just ibuprofen and Tylenol. Mind you, I have never abused medications. I just don't tolerate certain ones that well. This is my third day of the repair and I'm still hurting quite a bit. I have nothing else to take. I've never been treated like this at any other hospital. I am upset I chose them.

Sad that you send a sick loved one to this Er. Waste of time is all they did. I work in a Er and we atleast give our pts comfort before they leave. I will be requesting my lives one to seek an itemized bill cause that visit was not worth more than 100 dollars. Why even have an Er if you’re not going to treat the pt. Flu is running rampant and you just do a test and send them on their way!!! What a useless hospital in my mind. Sad this type of place gives my Er a bad name

We are from NC & while visiting Atchison our 5 year old needed an emergency appendectomy. Being from a big city we were nervous having such a situation in a small town. Amberwell took the best care of her! We found every member of the staff from the surgeon to the housekeeping crew to be so very attentive, kind & qualified in their areas. The nurses were exceptionally wonderful. And most importantly her post-op follow up care was just as attentive & detailed.

Dr. Ables in the ER is the worse doctor I have ever had an experience with!! Must be a reason they keep you in the ER!! I will be checking to see who the ER doc is from now on before I bring anymore loved ones here!! If Amberwell is wanting to get a good strong name behind them you need to get rid of this guy!! He's a JOKE!!

Wonderful care. Have been here 3 times, twice with my Mother-in-Law and once with son. Each time the staff and nurses are kind, professional, and caring. The doctors are thorough and go beyond special care. I have been very impressed with each visit.

I've. Been having severe stomach pain vomiting and terrible illness. Everything I try to figure out what's wrong they blame it on me smoking reefer and I haven't smoke for 3 weeks and I've been having to miss work I have seen my gi doctor and he's concerned I have pancreatitas but the hospital completely disregards those fears and says I'm having a schizophrenic episode when this is the most sane I have ever been thanks to my meds but honestly I puke blood have pain so bad I be passed out and curled into athe fetal position and I can't get the help I need because they won't ever run the proper test to see what's wrong does anyone have any suggestions to where I should go
