Athens Scuba Park

This place is awesome...I have an issue with murky water, and we got there early as possible and it was nice and great visibility. Later in the day it gets murky but I'd absolutely go back. The staff at the shop were great and knowledgeable too!

Our trip was long, but it was well worth it. The campground was very country feeling, beautiful trees, 8 acre lake, and very quiet, in fact during the week we were the only campers. My husband and son had a great time, there were many items in the lake for them to explore while scuba diving. Planes, boats, large pipes to swim through, etc. It was a great family mini vacay

Fantastic locally owned and operated scuba park! Lots of neat stuff to dive down and see! Fantastic for merfolk, free divers and swimmers! Be sure to respect the clay bottom and stay clear. They have docks that incline into the water, tank fills and a scuba shop! Their website explains everything They staff is always so accommodating. They run a fantastic spot! **Mermaids love swimming through scuba bubbles**‍

My wife and I along with other friends spent 3 days here, we had campers and camped there, dove every day, and even night dives as well. As far as diving goes, I don't know what else you could ask for a fresh water location, plenty of wrecks to dive, jets, bus, sailboats, even a tunnel system to simulate caves. visibility was great, at least 15-20 feet, of course if you get a lot of folks in they will kick it up some, but that's the same anywhere you go and it settles fairly quick. Just a great site to dive and have fun. They do have a full dive shop, on site showers and rest rooms, as well as a gear rinsing station, some covered areas, picnic tables, and even a grill to use if you dont have one. They are close to an active railroad track, and the train does come thru at night, and uses the horn, so know that if you stay overnight. Its not the cheapest place to dive, but It is worth it as far as we are concerned, Its got to be a lot of work to maintain and operate a place like this. and your entry fee gets you snorkel equipment, kayaks, life vests, swimming noodles, if you like. As far as the staff and customer service goes, Calvin and Shannon are amazing folks, very friendly and helpful, they want you to be there and they want you to have a great time. We were there for my wife's birthday and our anniversary, when They found out it was her birthday, they came to our camper and surprised her with a birthday cupcake, and a shirt. Truly great people who care. We are already planning another trip later this summer. This truly is a great place and super nice people,,,

Though visability was low due to a lot of divers, it helped me practice my navigation. Best part for me was diving the airplanes, really neat experience. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Their shop has anything you need from rentals to outfitting you with your own gear. They offer fun water activities from time to time. I dove my first scavenger hunt this weekend where the prizes were worth playing the game!

AWESOME, we will be back. Saturday 6-20-2020 was the wife and my first time here. The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the entire day of snorkeling and are still talking about how fun it was!!

The staff is so friendly. They are extremely Knowledgable and passionate about their craft. They have an extremely diverse selection of gear at prices that are comparable to web prices. They act like they want us to be there and are willing to work to make any issue we come across a non-issue. We all love it there and will be back

We had a super awesome time diving at the park. Super clean showers/bathrooms, amazing people/staff, and really helpful with checking on gear or possible fixes. My dive computer wasn't working, but they were able to find the problem, and gave it back to me working at 100%. The structures down in the water was such a cool thing to see. I had a blast haha

This is a nice little place to get a dive in. I came here with some friends when our Flower Gardens trip got cancelled. The owners were really super nice and friendly. The viz wasn't great, only about 8-10 feet, due to recent rains. There's no fish due to the mineral content of the water, but there's some cool wrecks down there. I particularly liked the big plane and Clint Eastwood's cabin cruiser. They also have showers and a changing room, which was really nice. The water was only 67 degrees, so I was really glad to be able to get into dry clothes!

Three of us went there for our first time today. we drove 2 1/2 to go to this lake. Friendliness: 10 out of 10 We felt welcomed and completely safe, they answered every question we had AND made some great suggestions. Cleanliness: 9 out of 10, only because our pavilion didn't have a cover. I think it may have have gotten damaged in a storm and they haven't had time to replace it yet, either way, it was still a really nice place to hang out between dives. Water Clarity: I give it a 6/7 out of 10. Mainly because I can't stop bouncing off the lake bottom. sorry to all the other divers Prices: 8 out of 10 the prices were a little high, HOWEVER, the quality of the rental gear is EXTREAMLY good. I was really surprised at how good it was. All in all, we look forward to returning to Athens Scuba Park...
