Atlanta Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps Atlanta families and single residents achieve the American dream of homeownership.
Through house sponsorships, individual donations, and volunteer time, we build energy-efficient, quality, affordable and attractive houses. These homes are sold to homebuyer families through no-interest loans. Homebuyers complete 250 hours of sweat-equity in addition to paying for their homes, working side-by-side with sponsors and volunteers to help build their own and other Atlanta Habitat homes. Qualified homebuyers also have steady income, good credit and a need for better housing. New homebuyers are required to attend 12 education classes offering instruction in home maintenance, budgeting, community involvement, and more. All support from our sponsors, donors and volunteers directly benefits the local Atlanta community.
