We accept items, including furniture, clothing, shoes, household goods, linens, decorative items, small kitchen appliances, books, media, and electronics.
Everybody loves a thrift store! Because everybody wins. The bargains are great for you — and people living on a limited income. The stores help fund our programs. And our clients get a chance to practice on-the-job training, taking them one step closer to independence.
What’s not to love, right?
Atlanta Mission’s thrift ministry is a significant funding source for programs transforming the lives of men, women, and children facing homelessness. Our thrift stores are also ministry centers that serve the people in their communities. Customers, donors, volunteers, program clients, and staff all experience the love, care, and service that is present in the heart of Christ.
Prayer is key at every store location. Staff and volunteers open every day with prayer, and boxes for prayer requests are found in each store. In addition, the thrift stores actively work with local churches and community agencies to provide needed clothing vouchers for low-income individuals and families.
We go beyond Atlanta with the thrift ministry, to communities and people in need in other communities — Athens, Commerce, Gainesville, Marietta, and Winder. For information about our thrift stores, or to schedule a donation pickup, call 404.367.2289.
Atlanta Mission’s thrift stores are 501(c)(3) organizations, and all donations are tax-deductible. Receipts are available at each thrift store location for donations.
Proceeds from the stores help fund the life-changing programs at Atlanta Mission facilities. In one recent year, the thrift stores generated more than $500,000, resulting in 908,700 meals served, 332,700 nights of shelter, and more than 150 individuals transitioning back into the workforce and independent living.
Each thrift store also serves as a ministry center in its local community. Our stores have boxes for prayer requests, and we pray with staff, clients, and customers daily. We also partner with local nonprofits, churches, and government agencies to meet the material needs of those who fall on hard times.
Our stores rely on volunteers, who assist with a variety of duties from retail sales and store organization to special programs and events. Call any of our stores directly to volunteer as an individual or as a group.
