Atlanta is a town in Rusk County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 627 at the 2000 census. The unincorporated community of Imalone is located partially in the town.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 51.0 square miles (132.0 km²), of which 50.8 square miles (131.5 km²) is land and 0.2 square mile (0.5 km²) (0.37%) is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 627 people, 226 households, and 176 families residing in the town. The population density was 12.3 people per square mile (4.8/km²). There were 273 housing units at an average density of 5.4 per square mile (2.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.88% White, 0.64% Native American, 0.48% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.28% of the population.There were 226 households out of which 37.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.4% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.1% were non-families. 17.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.77 and the average family size was 3.09.
