My husband and I have lived here one year this month. I can only say it was the best move we have made in 27 years,which is when we built the beautiful home we left to move here. The people who live and work here are absolutely wonderful and welcoming. The campus is beautiful and very well maintained and we love our “villa” home! We look forward to many more years in our beautiful retirement community!
Atlantic Shores is a beautiful community with wonderful and caring staff. The residents are engaged in fun activities and they also have access to higher levels of care if they ever need it.
I worked with Atlantic Shores as a consultant for years and was always impressed with the warm and genuine staff around campus as well as the leadership team. In fact, I was so impressed I decided to leave consulting to join the Atlantic Shores leadership team nearly 2 years ago and am proud to be a part or such a great organization and community.
Beautiful, secure campus with lots of amenities. Food is great, staff wonderful. Lots of activities with friendly faces. Very well managed. Have truly enjoyed being a resident owner for the last 7 years.
Hey, my name is Jason and I've been working at Atlantic Shores for almost 10 years. What was supposed to be a job to "pay the bills," quickly turned into a career and I'll tell you why. One Friday in late August about 9 years ago my dog was lost on campus and as soon as the word got out, residents made it their mission to find my dog, and a lot of the Atlantic Shores staff even used their lunch break and/or stayed after work to help find him. Thankfully my dog was quickly found and greeted with lots of love and pets from residents and staff. A lot of places will say you're family but whether you live here or work here, when you're at Atlantic Shores you really are family!
My mother moved to Atlantic Shores over a year ago. She has thrived and we've been very happy with the facility, personnel and services provided. I think that the biggest difference between Atlantic Shores and other senior living facilities is that it is a co-op, with residents 'owning the property' and residents on the board of directors; their goal is to make living there a delight instead of constant cost-cutting to make a profit. Highly recommend.
My husband and I moved to Atlantic Shores five years ago, we have never regretted that decision. We loved our neighborhood and friends in Kempsville, but Atlantic Shores quickly became "home" and we have made many new friends. We have been able to take advantage of social and travel opportunities organized by Atlantic Shores Resident Services and no other retirement community could have more helpful, friendly employees than those here.
We assisted my brother-in-law in transitioning my sister-in-law over to Atlantic Shores Marina Bay Memory Unit. Roberta Gilbert assisted us every step of the way with the admissions process helping to make it go as smooth as possible. The staff in the memory unit are taking excellent care of my sister-in-law, lovingly helping her with her personal care and keeping her engaged during the day with activities. The staff is very friendly and helpful to us when we visit her. The facility is extremely clean. My sister-in-law has integrated in the community and is doing very well. She likes interacting with the other people living in the facility. My mom is in Seaside at Atlantic Shores, the best skilled nursing for her rehabilitation. I owe so much to Atlantic Shores, it's been an incredible place to work for the past 18 years and now they are taking awesome care of my mom!
Great management who genuinely care about the residents. The best thing about this community is that the residents actually own it and have a real role in the decisions that are made. I also like the fact is that I retain my independent living decisions. after six years, I can say my wife and I made the best decision of our lives when we moved here.
