Audubon Charter School, a New Orleans public school, offers dual French and Montessori curricula for Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Audubon is the only public elementary school in Louisiana accredited by the French Ministry of National Education in pre-K through eighth grades, and the Consul General of France serves on our Board of Directors. French program students are taught the French curriculum by native French-speaking teachers, and all classes are taught in French. Audubon is also an associate member of the American Montessori Society. Students in Audubon’s Montessori program are instructed by specially trained teachers who direct self-motivated learning and exploration based on each child’s individual development. Arts education is another pillar of our school, with programs for Talented in Music, Visual Arts, and Theater. We also offer programs for Gifted Resource as well as English as a Second Language. Overall, our unique and specialized programs result in students who have an intensified motivation to learn, improved multicultural understanding, higher engagement in learning and well-developed thinking skills, creativity, and problem solving.
