Not really that impressed with their ability to be professional in customer service. I find the service here subtly rude and undermining. I bought hydrogen peroxide and when I loaded it into my bag it somehow had been leaking prior and I got it on my hands. When I went back to show her - she told me she meant to tell me to be careful with it and that she was closing now. This is an item that if you are aware has leaked in the past, you might bag it to protect caustic burns on your customers. And then when you do find your customer has a caustic burn, you might show some kind of care and offer quick access to water. Being told you are closing and I can go out back and use the tap in the parking lot is a limp attempt at this. Several years before I had been here and I also found the service to be very strange and I forgot, hopefully next time I am in town I will remember and go somewhere else instead.
Very knowledgeable and, dare I say, courageous staff at Aura! As natural health becomes more and more controversial see recent censorship pertaining to natural immunity, naturally many will now be offended by guidance coming from true advocates of natural and alternative health options. Educating the public counter to public health’s unscientific guidance does take a tremendous amount of courage these days and I admire employees who take their role as health educators seriously, even at the risk of ruffling some feathers. Unless you are wearing an N 95 facemask, cloth facemasks and disposable facemasks made with numerous chemicals and micro plastics are doing more harm than good and are extremely unhealthy. I believe everyone has the right to make their own decision on this, but for someone working in the health industry it is their duty, no matter how much they’re persecuted for it, to educate the public, especially when so much scientific data and information is being suppressed from the public. On the subject of persecution: I can’t tell you how much persecution has been normalized for those who choose not to wear face masks. I hope that any person who feels offended by having their choice to wear a face mask challenged will be quick to defend those being harassed for not wearing facemasks. Live and let live it goes both ways, and long may we live and let live.
I am the "elderly friend" the previous review mentioned and yes, I was quite embarrassed when the store owner twice referred to my face mask as a "face diaper". She claimed she could not understand me with the diaper on my face so her hearing must have degraded once she stopped wearing a mask herself, as is now permitted. I just returned from Texas and Florida and was often the only person in an enclosed space wearing a mask but not once was I subjected to ridicule. What's more disappointing is I have shopped at Aura for over thirty years. Look, if you don't want to wear a mask that's your business, not mine. If I want to then that's my business. That seems simple to me. Anyway, I can purchase all the supplements I need on line and less expensive so there's no need for me to ever go back to Aura.
I have used Aura Foods many many times over the years for all our family’s health needs so we don’t resort to anti-biotics as much as possible ~ for example, I use a natural product there called “Umcka” that gets rid of Lung infections or Bronchitis naturally. It’s my “go to” health store. Over the years about 20 years I’ve even grown to love the owners very much, even their very dry and sometimes ‘sandpaperish’ lol ! sense of humour ~ Their heart is definitely in the right place and they really do want to help people get healthy ~ they are very committed to helping people get better; I can attest to this over my many years of counting on their knowledge and expertise for my own family. The owner even helped me get healthy and do a very specific cleanse which had 3 medical specialists stumped. Ralph has a ton of knowledge and if a person is willing to listen and be patient, it is absolute gold.
Amazing store and even more amazing staff. A real hidden gem in Fredericton
The store is great. Most of the people who work there are very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately my 4 year old daughter and I went there today to try to get some new essential oils. The lady who brought in in the store was very friendly and helpful. The lady who came out after was not. She was quite rude and seemed very impatient. My 4 year old daughter had to go to the washroom. The lady who let us in said we could go. When we got out the other lady who was a bit rude to begin with was even more tide about the situation. I understand the pandemic we are in, but I'm sorry when my daughter who is learning to potty train cant always wait until we get someplace else to use the washroom. This is the first time I have seen the lady there, and the first time I have experienced this kind of treatment there. Other than her the store is great. But I may be taking my business elssewhere.
Great locally owned shop. They bring in fresh produce from local venders. each season. The owner seems fairly caring to their customers and offered to share some of her personal garlic with my gf when they ran out. It was a very thoughtful gesture. Great herbal selection for vitamins, detoxes, and homeo needs. Great find on the south side. Happy they offer parking both beside their store and across the street in church parking lot, it's very helpful.
If this store was in a larger city with competition, it wouldn't last 6 months. Most of the food is processed with a very small choice of "whole" food like fresh veggies. The produce is often old and close to going off with the odd exception, so I don't buy any there. The trail mix is very old 90% of the time so I stopped buying it. The staff are vey hit and miss. A couple are friendly and helpful with others rude, impatient when they can break themselves away from stocking shelves or paperwork. The atmosphere and attitude I have experienced over a number of years shows limited regard for the customer let alone the concept that it's our money that keeps the business afloat. I have taken my business elsewhere.
