Austin A. Layne Mortuary truly provided exceptional service to my best friend. She looked so at peace and beautiful. The staff was very professional. I forgot the funeral director's name, but she did a wonderful job with this celebration of my best friend's life. I can't say enough praise for the job they did for her homegoing celebration.
June 29th my family had to bury our loved one. I will say that my family member looked good. But the officiants were the rudest old men I have ever met in my life. I understand that we needed to wear masks. But when you’re mourning and it’s hot, people forget. They were yelling throughout the whole service. My cousin’s mom passed he talked to him like he was a kid. It was so horrible they were rude to everyone. I would never use them for my family until they retire.
My family has used Austin Layne for many years. Unfortunately, it is not the same. Mr. Layne was my funeral director and I thought I was in good hands. Unfortunately, this was not the case. With this being my fist funeral I had to personally do, I wasn't sure of many things, and he did not tell me. It took the lady who takes the photos and clothing to ask me about certain things. I never received the death certificates from the coordinator in that position so I went to the county to pick it up myself. After calling to express my frustration, I was lied to saying they couldn't get in contact with me. I pulled my phone records for the month and not one missed call from them. During the burial, the vault had the wrong date for my mother. Instead of an apology, my funeral director said "Oh, that can be fixed," while throwing his hand up. I tried 3 weeks to get a hold of my funeral director to express my frustration and to get proof the vault was fixed and get my death certificates before making my final payment. Nothing. Instead I was told "the vault company there said he fixed it, and I seen him go to the truck," said my funeral director who then told me to call the vault company. After calling Wilbert vault company I was told that was the date Mr. Layne gave them, and she mentioned she would ask the person who worked that day if it was fixed and if he had taken a picture, then told me to call back in a hour. After calling back, of course they said they fixed it, but no proof. Then proceeded to again play the blame game. Aside from not receiving the death certificates, the vault being wrong, the media team did not place her photo online after receiving it, and they did not follow the instructions I gave them for the song selections during the service. Both companies have made it difficult to grieve. I will not be using either anymore.
I have entrusted Austin Layne Mortuary to care for the preparations for my father and mother. My father's funeral was almost 20 years ago and at that time I would have given 5 stars. Mr. Layne worked with us personally and everything was perfect. My mother's funeral was 3 years ago and there were a few hiccups, but nothing that they did not resolve. Their preparation of both bodies was so good. It helps to bring pictures of how your loved ones looked while alive to help the morticians know what they should look like.
Came to pick up a loved ones ashes and was not acknowledged at all. I’m sure it’s because I appeared to be young and they assumed I was irrelevant. It was rude and uncalled for. You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover.
My experience with Austin A Layne Mortuary was NOT most pleasant. I recently used their services for my brother's funeral. Mr.Layne in particular was very indiscretion. With the exception of Answering Service, most of staff was just plain cold and indifferent. Although, I did get $2,500 reduced from cost of funeral. I felt customer service skills were sorely lacking. Even day of funeral the indifference continued. Staff vertically disappeared offered no assistance exception end of service. I am not only person who noticed. Family members and friends later told me they felt same way. I will NOT recommend this company to anyone in future.
I would not recommend Austin Layne Mortuary to anyone, my brother live an died in Fergerson , they were recommend to me by someone , I had no knowledge of a Mortuary in Fergerson , I called for 2 days trying to get information about their services, pricing, information .customer service kept saying I need to talk with a director . Austin Layne made it very difficult in handling business long distance . After no results , we moved my brother body to another funeral home, we went on line an found a great Mortuary , however when they went to pick his body up they would not release his body unless we paid this overcharged fee , I understand a reasonable fee for picking up my brother body but this was unreal . Compassion is shown in business , by handling your business in making your services, stressless an easier, showing you care for each family , I did not receive that from Austin Layne Mortuary
Everyone went above and beyond for my family during the lost of my brother, a special Thank You to Jeannette and Elaine. We called Austin Layne back for a couple things that needed to be taken care of, they DID NOT hesitate to continue to take care of us. These words can not express how I appreciate the service that was provided to my family. Thank You Austin Layne for your great service.
The experience at the business was horrible. During the service for my uncle, the chapel was hot. They didn't have the music for the service despite it being sent days prior to the service. The casket spray did not arrive until 10 min before the funeral. At the cemetary, the funeral director attempted to rush us out of the cemetary so they could make room for another service despite pushing our service back for a ballon release that was held the save day. How do you rush a family that is grieving? Oh, did I mention I was hit on by one of the directors at the service and the cemetary? It was THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, DISORGANIZED, mess I have ever seen!
Do Not I Repeat DO NOT TRUST YOUR LOVED ONES FUNERAL SERVICES with Austin Layne Mortuary THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE DEAD EMPATHY FOR FAMILIES AND WILL STEAL YOUR JEWELRY AND HEIRLOOMS WHEN THEY HAVE POSSESSION OF THEM WITH FULL DENIABILITY!!!! #SMALLCLAIMSCOURT
