The Austin Peay State University Wind Ensemble is recognized as one of the Southeast's premier collegiate ensembles, having presented feature performances at the 2010 College Band Director National Association Southern Division Conference in Oxford, Miss and the 2008 Tennessee Music Educators Association State Conference in Nashville, Tenn. Under the direction of conductor Gregory Wolynec, the ensemble performs twice per semester on the campus of APSU, as well as on an annual spring tour. The ensemble will release its second CD during the spring of 2012 on the Summit label featuring works premiered by, and commissioned for, the ensemble by Lee Hoiby, Jeffrey Wood and Anthony Plog. This follows the 2008 release of 'Aubade,' featuring works of Stucky, Ives, Ticheli, Holst and Poulenc.
