Autzen Stadium

Description

Autzen Stadium is an outdoor football stadium in the northwest United States, in Eugene, Oregon. Located north of the University of Oregon campus, it is the home field of the Oregon Ducks of the Pac-12 Conference. Opened in 1967, the stadium has undergone several expansions. The official capacity is 54,000. However, attendance at the stadium regularly exceeds 54,000.HistoryPrior to 1967, the Ducks' on-campus stadium was Hayward Field, which they shared with the track and field team. However, by the 1960s, it had become apparent that the 22,500-seat stadium was no longer suitable for the football team. The Ducks only played three home games per year on campus in most years; with the exception of the Civil War, the annual rivalry game with Oregon State, games that were likely to draw big crowds (against schools like Washington and USC) were played north in Portland at the larger Multnomah Stadium. With the recognition that the football team had outgrown the campus facility and with popular support to play the entire home schedule in Eugene, Oregon athletic director Leo Harris led a campaign to build a new stadium on 90acre that the school had acquired for the purpose in the 1950s on his recommendation.

My 4 star rating is simply not a 5 star rating because every year I go to almost every home game, and every year the freaking Ducks lose in November…AT HOME…AT NIGHT!!! Win the night games man stop choking at home. Love the Stadium though. Fans, they’ve been to spoiled over the years so the crowd acts bored a lot of times….Not like the good ole Chip Kelly days where there was a legit buzz in the stadium constantly. Anywho, GO DUCKS
Very cool! Beautiful architecture and fun environment. There's food and drink stands inside with much more to see.
Fun to visit. It was fun to see a ridiculous number of grads. The honey buckets in the middle of the stadium wasn’t the best look.
Great tailgating experience, stadium was loud! Had a great time at Autzen Stadium!
We always have a good time at the EM'S games! Family fun!
Really enjoyed the game here and the stadium is pretty nice. Seats 54 thousand and was sold out. Parking is always a problem as downtown quarters are tight. Our parking alone cost 50 dollars. Food prices were very reasonable for stadium food with hotdogs in the 4 dollar range. Views from around the stadium were all good even high up. You can rent padded seats there to make things a bit more comfortable. The adult fans on both sides were very cordial with each other which was great to see. A couple things that could use improvement IMO. The music they were playing sounded like someone was talking on a cell phone with bad reception because they had to bleep all the expletives out of the songs. For all the families attending it was a poor choice. Additionally, at half-time they ran out of hotdogs. Who runs out of hotdogs at a sold-out game at halftime? There was very little security especiallybfor those acting up and causing trouble. Lastly, the student section was yelling unified profanities and bigoted comments during the game. UofO only responded after the game when numerous news outlets called them out on it. It was pretty shameful for the student body to act the way they did as well as the students smoking in front of us despite our asking them repeatedly to stop.
If you love football college football, you must go to Autzen. Go Ducks. At the end of the first quarter stand and sing with 65,000 other people, I'm coming home to Oregon! Then in the third quarter get ready to SHOUT' A little bit softer now. A little bit softer now. Little bit louder now. A little bit louder now. The place goes crazy jumping. Animal House is alive. Go Ducks
Going to Autzen stadium is always a great experience! Getting into the game was smooth with no issues We loaded up on some pizza and beverages that tasted great and always overpriced think carnival prices but part of the deal. Had some great seats section 35 row 22. The view was very good and the the Megatron helps when the crowd gets wild. Getting out after the game took a while but we stood in line for our shuttle which went smoothly too. Just know you have to wait for a bit but the shuttle ride went great too. Definitely recommend going if you haven't gone before.
Went to the Em's game. Nice small ball field. Spendy concessions. Eat before you go otherwise $$$
I went for the first time to watch a game live at this stadium. It was a bit tricky to find the season pass holders parking spots as the numbers didn’t all match up but the staff was friendly and helpful. They have a great area for tailgating and a lot of food/drink options available during the game. To avoid having to go back to your car, make sure if you’re bringing in a purse/bag you purchase a clear one as that’s the new rules. The seats are only comfortable with the cushion so if you’re not a pass holder- rent the cushions. It’s worth it! During the game there are a lot of crowd chants so if you want to sing along you can find them online I’m sure. Go Ducks!
