"The Averitt Center for the Arts ACA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the arts and arts education in Bulloch and surrounding counties. Formed in 2004 as The Statesboro Arts Council, our renaming served to reflect our ever growing reach in the area. The Averitt Center for the Arts is proud to be the center point of downtown Statesboro. Our arts campus operates out of five renovated buildings and our presence has revitalized the downtown business district. Locations that are under the ACA include the Whitaker Black Box Theater, Rosengart Gallery, and the Emma Kelley Theater."

They had a really great band there trouble is it's hot seeing through the people's heads in front of you you can tell it's an old theater most theaters have a steep incline where you don't have to look around somebody's head.
My daughter has been a student for the past 41/2 years and loves Statesboro Youth Ballet! Juri Safonovs is professionally trained in Latvia and offers top technique instruction. The students also have opportunities to perform in ballets, such as Coppelia, Nutcracker, and The Christmas Carol as well as different venues around Statesboro.
I'm a bit disappointed that the seats we purchased front row of balcony didn't have a clear view of the stage because of the seats along the side. And the sound quality was disappointing; many times throughout the show we couldn't hear the performers because the music was too loud. I can't help but wonder if they even had someone on the upper level to check sound during rehearsals. Was our first show at this venue and for the price we were not impressed.
Shows at the Averitt never disappoint! From professional shows to community theatre productions, we always have a wonderful time participating or attending. We try to take advantage of the excellent Arts Education programs, as well. They’re great for kids or adults.
Went to the Averitt Center for the Arts tonight to watch Young Frankenstein. Wow! What a performance!! The actors were more than phenomenal and was the best two hours I've spent in a long time. If you ever see a show title of interest, do yourself a favor and come enjoy your community actors. Also, there is not a bad seat in the house in this classic, intimate theater.
An excellent place to begin any exploration of downtown Statesboro is the Averitt Center for the Arts. A thriving cultural hub, it comprises two separate buildings. The first is recognisable by the beautiful off-white exterior Greek-style columns and decoration which once adorned the Bank of Statesboro, before its collapse during the Great Depression. The second building is the Georgia Theatre, known today as the Emma Kelly Theatre in honour of a local songstress. Its art deco stylings were maintained when it was renovated, ensuring visitors get a feel for what Statesboro was like in the 1930s. Together, both buildings host a range of events right throughout the year, from art exhibitions to bluegrass jamborees.
They put on great shows and the cover bands are really good. The Averitt Center also does lots of other fun activities for all ages.
The Averitt is not just a theater, they have lots of classes for kids, and a few for adults. My daughter takes theater with them and loves it. We are also registered for the kids art club, and the art camps, and highly recommend all of them. We recently saw a production of the sound of music at the Averitt, I was our first time watching community theater, and we were quite impressed!
Went to see a Chicago tribute band play. Great atmosphere, comfortable seating
Wonderful experience! A must see for every play! Children should be allowed to see live action plays, not just tv or videos.
