The Aviation Maintenance Technology program at Big Bend Community College is designed to prepare students for FAA airframe and powerplant maintenance certification and for employment in aviation maintenance careers.
Big Bend Community College has a long & rich history of providing a solid foundation to students seeking aviation education and training. The Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program at BBCC is structured to meet the needs of its students. Instruction includes basics of maintenance, servicing, inspection, repair, troubleshooting, and overhaul of aircraft airframes, powerplants, and their related systems and components associated with general and commercial aviation.
Students are able to earn an Associate in Applied science degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology, a Certificate of Achievement or a Certificate of Accomplishment. Upon successful completion of written, oral and practical tests our students will receive an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics Certificate. All FAA exams are offered at BBCC in our computer testing center and with the AMT faculty.
BBCC, AMT graduates also have the option to continue their education through Central Washington University (CWU) on the BBCC campus and earn a Bachelor of Science in an Aviation Maintenance Management Degree.
