I have been using Avis services for over ten times in many places and I can tell you this one here is the worst-ever that I highly encourage everyone to avoid. I booked a Toyota Camery for 1-day rental. 1. At pickup, staff told me there is only a very old Jeep car available. However, when I actually go to the lot, I saw many Camery and similar cars under the "Avis" plate. 2. The Jeep car I rented is very old and dirty. I have been using rental services from Avis for many times in California and this one here is the worst-ever car I received. 3. After the rental, I received a ridiculous letter saying that I need to pay $125 cleaning fee for the car???! This is absolutely ridiculous. The car is old and dirty when I received that and there is no way I can make it worse in one day, let alone that I did not even eat/drink on the car. What's more ridiculous, when I called Avis for this fine, after giving my number/email, they quickly canceled the fine without any discussion -- IMO this is simply fraud. They will steal money from you if you don't pay attention to your credit statement/mailboxes. Won't go to the place again.
Convenient, reliable, clean, and competitive pricing. Recently rented a car for my wife and i to drive out of state to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Even though over 4 days, we spent about 26 hours in the car driving, the car was clean and comfortable. Everything about the trip went well, making for a very special and memorable few days.
Do not rent from this location. I made a one way from Avis, and was told they didn’t have any available when I arrived. When I asked why it allowed me to book this online, they proceeded to raise their tone and say “I should have known as an Avis Preferred Member to call ahead of time for a one way rental” It is absolutely unjustified to treat customers with disrespect, especially after a service failure. I will be renting from Hertz moving forward after this experience
Had a confirmed reservation and was charged. Showed up to Avis and no car was available. Details: I rented a car online which was very easy and user-friendly. I got an email with a confirmation number and my credit card was charged. When I went to pick up the car at the time of my reservation, they said they did not have any cars available and they didn’t know why the online service let me book. They acknowledged my reservation but just said “sorry, that happens sometimes.” I requested to talk to the assistant manager at 12:20 and the guy at the desk Chance told me they would get in touch with me shortly. I then called back at 3:20 after not receiving a phone call and Chance told me he’d notify the manager to call me back to resolve the issue. I never got a call from anyone. I’m sure I’ll get a refund but I wasn’t able to get a rental from anywhere else which definitely derailed my plans. Avoid using this company. Poor customer service and unreliable systems.
Very disappointing experience with Avis. I booked the reservation using corporate discount with my company. During car pick up, I had to wait 1 hour because the car was not clean. When I dropped the car in O'hare, I was charged 120% more than the quoted price company discount. When I tried to clarify, the person was rude and told me he cannot help me. Avis has a history of hidden charges. Will never use this rental agency again.
I rented a car from avis that broke down 4 hours away from home. I've now been stranded for 30 hours with no car, nobody will help me. I was taking my 14 year old daughter on her first vacation to see the ocean and now it's not going to happen because my dad is having to come get us because avis won't do anything. I highly do not recommend anyone using this rental service.
Sick liars ruined my life subsequently booking with these evil people. Living to torture everyone that day to raise the prices on previously booked suv
May be OK if you rent far in advance, but if you rent same day, the website will tell you that cars are available when they are not! I rented a car online after my flight was canceled, and I called the national center to double check that cars were available at CMI. They said, word for word, "of course, yes, many vehicles are available at CMI." I show up to pick up the vehicle, and lo and behold, there are -10 vehicles available at CMI! Negative 10!! Crazy. And as I'm driving away, I notice the Avis lot is full of snowed in rental vehicles, probably from people who were supposed to pick up their rentals but had their flights cancelled. Very frustrating!
Worst car rental experience ever, avoid at all costs! We booked everything online, even paid in full online, then when we got there at the counter, we were told they don’t have any cars available. And the guy at the counter told us, “he has 20 reservations coming in the next 2 Hou with no cars available”
Easy to do on line and prepay. Did not know they put a $250 hold on the credit card. Liked that they gave us an upgrade because they did not have a vehicle in we requested this helped to keep us on schedule. My sister had rented from Enterprise but when we arrived they had no car, offered no upgrade and said it would be after 5:30pm. That was not acceptable we needed to be on the road. I went to Avis and had no problem.
