Tried to rent from this location to get to the airport. When we arrived there was a couple in front of us and when I approached the counter, the gentleman greeted me and I told him about our previous conversation about renting a car. He seemed to understand. I advised him I’d be right outside to wait due to the small waiting area. After waiting about 10min I returned inside where the couple seemed frustrated that the card terminals were not working. I went back outside and waited. 2 return car customers entered so I entered behind them, he still was working with the first couple. Then 2 additional people entered. He began helping another return customer so I approached the desk and asked if he had an availability or should we retreat to a different location due to him skipping over us after the long wait. His response while shrugging his shoulders, “I don’t know, I have customers.” Mind you everyone waiting in the lobby were speaking fluent Spanish and I don’t know a word of Spanish. At this moment I felt as if he didn’t see me as a customer so we decided to go to a different location that treats all customers the same.
Hi wasn't to happy with Avis road side service when I call to report that the car I rented had a bubble in the front driver tire and they gave me two option first they had someone come to change the tire. Then I would have to drive 50mile on a spare to the nearest location to get another car. Or i could purchase a tire and they reimburse me and I did. Now they send me letter in the mail that according to the rental agreement they have charge me for road side service. The customer service got to do better to serve .
The worst AVIS to rent from. I only use Avis for renting and have Preferred status. I book a reservation and drive about 30 minutes away to pick up my car. I end up arriving 45 minutes after my time slot. The guy at the front desk says, “sorry no cars available.” No remorse, no apologies. Terrible customer service. Dude, you have my along with every person who reserved contact information. If you know you don’t have any cars, call the folks that have reserved and tell them in advance. The definition of horrible customer service. Called AVIS corporate immediately and they rectified the situation by securing me a rental in Sunny Isles. Save yourself the hassle and don’t rent from this location.
I Reserved a car through internet and when I went to pick up the car they didn't have any, so they said that they will refound my money in five days , before I walk away she offer a Truck and they charge almost $ 300 extra only for one day . When I went to return the car they wanted to charge more and on the side they were asking for my social security number?????If I don't provide this information they also threat me to ban me to rent cars from Avis . they treat you like trash , give you a hard time and also wanted to charge extra $15- because I didn't use 75 miller in one day unacceptable customer service !!!!! I'm still have on hold $ 397 on my credit card !
Always great service at this location. Today picked up a Toyota Camry Kentucky plates B9E947 with a bubble in the rear tire and a gash in the front tire. Luckily they had another vehicle to switch into, but i pray that it's fix before renting it out again. Shame on the driver who cause the damage.
We reserved an intermediate size car as we usually drive, but where surprised with a high pick up like SUV was the only car available, the contract was made before showing us the car, but we did not feel safe driving that monster. After a while a large sedan arrived but had to be cleaned, body checked then contract remade. Wasted 2 hours in all that but contract remained at original time from reservation, On the way back we requested to return the car to other site due to highway traffic due to accidents but were told Avis only permitted returns to this site , that closes at 6pm , so we had to come in the next morning and were charged additional fees , but we could not ride it to our airport flight but had to contract transportation. At Avis, 2 customers were waiting hours trying to get their reserved cars not ours, a frustrated lady just said lets go back shopping to the aventura mall till the car arrives . So the Avis manager was very strict to charge additional day but not so much having the reserved cars available. Felt just like Seinfeld’s episode on car rentals .The customer is always wrong.
Don’t rent with Avis local. I received a disgusting car that looked like it was a personal car that couldn’t be sold privately so Avis bought it.
My first experience renting a car from Avis was great! The process was very smoothly the car amazing and the convenience of been able to leave my car at the mall car garage free and secure. I would recommend to my friends and family and go back whenever I need a rental car.
Unreal!! Showed up and person at desk was alone and spoke no English at all. Had to use an app to translate. This is in Florida mind u not South America. Then they didn’t have my car. No warning or call or email to let me know. Just waited till I showed up. Unreal
My rental pick up was at 12. I received a call to come at 1230 because of delay of return. Fortunately location was by mall, I stated all was ok. When I arrived to office at 1230, vehicle was still not there. I asked representative to please call me as she stated possibly in an hour, that I would go wait in the mall. I had to pick up family at the airport at 140pm and felt that I had time to wait. I contacted office when they called me saying they landed, I was given same response. I coordinated a pick up for them while I still waited. Around 230 I told representative that this was not okay. She offered a van, that the person who had vehicle was an employee and wife had vehicle I selected 7 passenger Tahoe , resulting she was in Palm Springs. Each time I contacted office or went to office same response "not yet, on the way". I tried my best to be patient- I made my selection online, if vehicle was not available it should NOT have been listed. I accepted the van as my family and I had been Ubering and needed to get on our cruise the next day and complete other errands and another airport pick up. Our last family group yet to arrive. This was a huge inconvenience and poor representation of Avis. I returned Monday morning for a discount and to have vehicle dropped off by cruise dock. Received a $45 discount, yet I still paid more when I dropped of vehicle, considering another $10 due to no shuttle to cruise check in. More money was spent while waiting due to this mess, we could have gone elsewhere. When we dropped off vehicle by Cruise dock, shuttle was no longer doing drop offs, Uber was used and guess which vehicle picked us up?! SAME VEHICLE TYPE WE RENTED. Fit all our luggage. My family did not need to carry their bags on laps. Avis do better, make this right.
