Avis Car Rental

The folks at Brownsville Airport Avis were wonderful. They were knowledgeable and went the extra mile to give us a list of recommendations for places to eat and visit during our stay. The whole rental and drop off process were so easy and convenient! We will be renting from Avis again!

Nice customer service from Connie at Avis/BRO. Beautiful new terminal building and a small, simple operation made pick up and drop off easy. Toll transponder was already mounted in vehicle and ready to use - no games with up-charging.

Vehicle pick up and drop off was very quick and easy. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

I called ahead the day before our arrival after our flight was canceled and we were rebooked on a later flight. Our new flight landed after Avis was supposed to close. The girl working,I didn’t get her name, said she would stay until we got there. I called after our flight was again delayed and told her we wouldn’t be in until close to 1 am and I wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t wait for us, the normal close time was 11:30. We got off the plane at 12:45 am and she had stayed and waited for us to land. She saved the trip, we didn’t have a back up plan for where to stay and our hotel was 40 min away. Thank you so much to the girl working that night that stayed to help us out.

We rented a car for 1 day! Nov.18-19,2021. The car they gave us had a cracked windshield! As we exited the rental area at the gate. We told the guy there is a crack, he stated no problem. He took out a book and wrote the information, he kept the hard copy and gave us the pink copy. He instructed us to leave on dashboard when we returned the car, we did as told! On Dec 20, 2021 we had a charge on our card for $589.00, of course we called avis, they charged us to repair the windshield!!! They said they have NO RECORD and NOTHING they can do about it! THIS IS SO WRONG!! We will get this handled! We will never use avis again, their customer service is awful and and I strongly discourage anyone else to use this company!

The agent that I returned the car to was not friendly. Also, after paying over $300 for the car for the week, after, I leave on my flight back home, I got another charge on my card for $175. I have received no email or information as to why I had to pay this amount. I left the car full of gas and in perfect condition. Avis need to send an explanation of additional charges before just charging your credit card. The agent made it seem as though I did not have any additional charges.
