I have been seeing Dr Ayer’s for about 2 years for my aging overused knee. I expect to have a replacement within one year. I went for a second opinion at another Boston specialist but I’m confident to stay with Dr Ayer’s. He has given me expert advice on preserving my function until a replacement is indicated. He is thorough, kind and has exceptional clinical skills.
He is one down to earth man. I have a serious issue for 3 years and seen more doctors than I care to mention, let's just say with no results. I met Dr. Ayers 1 yr 1/2 ago and trust me when I say, he knows his profession. I would recommend him to anyone and to every one. He has performed 2 knee replacements for me and I I'm on my way to a recovery after 3 yrs of pain. 5 stars and more if I could give.
Dr Ayer’s was very professional explained my procedure in great detail and also explained to me how everything was playing out in my recovery. Answered all my questions and concerns. Everyone I dealt with was excellent. They were on point during my recovery and made sure everything was ok
The checkin was efficient, I only waited a short time maybe 5 minutes before I saw Dr. Ayers. He was attentive, pleasant and very specific. All of my questions were fully answered.

Dr. Ayers was very professional and took time to explain my condition. Unlike some doctors he was hesitant to offer cortisone shot for my hip condition. He opted for PT and anti inflammatory treatment first which I appreciated. I would highly recommend him.
I have been a patient of South Shore Orthopedics for over 5 years. I fell recently and called the office to see a doctor. From the first person I spoke to on the phone to the technician who directed me to the exit, all dealings were professional and expressed concern for my health. The x ray technician was aware of my back pain and carefully helped me during the entire process to make certain I suffered no discomfort. Dr. Michael Ayers greeted me with a pleasant hello and reviewed my x rays pointing out that I did not fracture or break any bones in my fall. The news I received was good but so was the pleasant and professional treatment I received from all the staff. I strongly recommend that you consider South Shore Orthopedics, Hingham, MA for any orthopedic care and you will receive the same concerned and excellent medical care.
Checkin was a little bit of aline, but once checked in things went smoothly. Got xrays and saw surgeon within minutes. Dr Ayes and his staff definitely listen to concerns and help in coming up with a game plan to feeling better.
Dr Ayer’s was short with me and I felt rushed out because he had a meeting. He answered my questions only very briefly and kept repeating that I needed surgery and to wrap my head around that and decide.
