Description

Baboush Restaurant is Dallas’ newest escape, a place where Morocco is a state of mind.

Baboush Restaurant Concept was born in Marrakesh city, Morocco inside a small traditional market called Baboush. Baboush means Moroccan slippers; and also the name of the Market that specializes in making the slippers in many colors and styles. Hence, the restaurant’s interior design was inspired by the slippers’ vibrant colors and this market way of life.

The menu is a combination of the best ideas of Eastern Mediterranean (Lebanese) and Morocan. It is inspired by vendors’ street food cooking, but with family source recipes served in small plates. The emphasis of this menu is more on Lebanese (Mediterranean) than Moroccan (North African), blending both authentic and contemporary signature dishes in an inventive way. They incorporate fine, fresh ingredients and traditional spices while also using established European culinary techniques.

Baboush! A lovely discovery of awesome food, great drinks, and a beautiful & chill atmosphere! I've dined here several times, and every time, I've fully enjoyed my experience! The food is delicious and very flavorful! The Harissa wings are one of my favorite, and I highly recommend them as an appetizer! The drinks are also really good, and whomever curated the drink menu definitely didn't shy away from providing variety in spirits or flavor profiles! Hookah is also available if you choose to dine out on the patio!
The baklava’s bawl was great. However, the presentation and even the content was not consistent between the first and second time I went… only reason for the 4 star. First time had ice cream and everything seemed fresh. Second time they subbed ice cream with custard and it really threw the taste off. Pictures attached for the two times I went. Staff was friendly and very nice.
The hummus was decent, but I personally prefer it to be creamier. The tabbouleh, unfortunately, lacked flavor and was rather bland. As for the main entrees, I ordered the chicken kabobs, which were a bit chewy and not as grilled as I had hoped. On the other hand, my friend had the chicken shawarma, which was slightly better in terms of taste. The service we received was good, but considering the food and overall experience, I found the prices to be a bit steep.
Very delicious and authentic. All the food was very flavorful. We went here for lunch and weren't disappointed. The food is a little higher priced than I was expecting but the portions were good and the food was filling. I would go back here again. I got the apricot lamb couscous and it was wonderful. The only downside is I had to specifically ask for the check instead of them bringing us the check when the meal was finished.
The ambience was really nice & tranquil. We particularly loved the outdoor seating area. The food was great and came out in good time. Absolutely loved the grilled salmon & basmati rice. My sister & friend had the chicken kebab & the lamb chops. They loved it too. The staff are also very friendly and hospitable. It’s a great spot and we’ll definitely be back.
I decided to take my SO here for a nice date night and we were met with fantastic music and a great environment upon arrival. The food was excellent and to compliment that was our even more amazing server Randa! She was so kind and incredibly attentive. I will be asking for Randa every time I come back thanks to her wonderful service!
Fantastic food here. Would come back again. The place itself is small, but they maximize on space. There is a couch lined up right behind the bar seating. We were sat immediately it was Sunday around dinner time. It looked like a musician was setting up fora live performance later on. Considering the room size, that might get quite loud for those with sensitive ears. No music while we were there though, and conversations around the room were muted enough for us to enjoy our table conversation at a normal volume. We ordered the big appetizer player, which had hummus and harissa and babagagnous. Everything on the platter was so tasty. I would order a whole jar of the harissa if I could. We also got the baklava bowl dessert, which had Turkish cotton candy and fresh marscapone cheese. Oh my word, so good. The only thing that was odd was the ice cream, which was just a plain vanilla you could get at the store. Not needed when everything else in the bowl is so unique. For drinks, a latte and a Turkish coffee which came with a Turkish delite!! . The manager came around once or twice to check in and make sure everyone was happy, and also to ask for reviews. They weren't overly crowded and I think they might be needing more business, which is honestly too bad, because if I lived close by this would be a weekly staple.
I've been here several times when I'm in the Dallas area and I do really like the food, but as others have pointed out, I realized after I looked at my copy of the receipt they printed out after I paid, they add on a 20% gratuity, but don't tell you that up front so I paid an additional 20% without knowing. They should print the bill and circle the gratuity they've added. That being said I do really like the food and the service was good, but next time I'll remember not to add another tip. They do get busy on weekends so I recommend making a reservation.
The service is excellent with great conversations. The food is incredibly tasty and with a beautiful presentation. The vibe is a gorgeous mix of Palestinian and Moroccan design. I highly recommend Baboush!!Recommended dishesAppetizer Platter, Falafel
