A nice change of pace We chose this place as something a bit different for a birthday dinner. And they totally came through for our reservation of 11. The table was spacious and the service was great. It was a very good experience overall. We did go on a night where they had live music though, so it was pretty loud as reported in other reviews, but it had a nice ambiance. The food was tasty, I managed to try the Frog Legs, Gator, Cajun Fries, Sausage, Jambalaya and Hot Link Po Boy personally. All of which were super tasty. Also ordered at my table to good reviews were the Etoufee and the Snow Crab legs which came in a plastic bag lol. If you are downtown and want something different than the standard fare. Try this place out, you won't be disappointed.
Best Gator I’ve ever had! Hands down ! Drove in from Oakland, We went with a large party of 10+, & in my experience, every time I dine with a large party, there’s ALWAYS some sort of issue, BUT NOT THIS TIME! The service was exquisite, & food came out very quickly! Everyone was very friendly, & there was even some live music out on the patio area!
First time here; won’t EVER be back. Tempted to cancel my order. I asked for a receipt...apparently it was a strange request. Took a minute to get the receipt, and when I asked for the rest of my change I was told “oh, we usually just round it off”. What type of UNprofessional...then I go to use the restroom; it smelled like a service station...AND THEY HAD JUST OPENED! Praying to god this “food” doesn’t make me ill. Update: I go to the backyard bayou in Union City all the time. The food there is really good. This “jambalaya” here in Livermore is not only a joke, it’s dangerous. It smelled spoiled, because it WAS spoiled. I so wish I cancelled my order. The bathroom was a definite red flag. The dish consisted of tomato sauce, rice, more tomato sauce, and a couple of spoiled shrimp. No spice, and about as bland as could be. If I could give it more thumbs down, I would.
Did a to go order ....so excuse the not-so-pretty pics of crab and shrimp on a bed of cajun fries.... but the food has been delicious thus far. Keep up the good work.
Prices are high, but the crawdads are great! Avoid the mac and cheese, it is really the only thing bad on the menu.
Absolutely loved this place!! I wanted to give it 5 stars but, they use hammocks instead of smoked Turkey in the redbeans and rice &, greens
Happy hour with $2 off on beers at the bar area also come with free wifi what can go wrong.
Food was decent. There was a band playing for 2hrs and we could barely hear each other over the music, not the best.
Lobster and Steak were so delicious, white wine was not that good, white crane winery sparkling is better.
I was actually really impressed by this restaurant. My wife and I visited there for lunch the other day and the seafood was quite fresh and the menu choices were unique. I'd like to come back and try the grilled gator and the frog legs! My only complaint was that the Bloody Mary seemed a little weak but it's hard to judge on one cocktail. The people that seated us were extremely friendly and the wait staff seemed dedicated to making our experience a pleasant one. We will most definitely be coming back.
