Great hike. Quite steep in some sections recommended very early in the morning due to lack of shade.
Recommend to visit the water fall from the trial head on the right hand side of the parking lot, and return from the trial along the river through the Indian cave.
I really enjoy this hike. It's all uphill with some steep hills. Definitely go prepared. Start early, however I had great weather on my side. You Definitely get a workout and you have an amazing view the higher you go. I bet on a clear day I can see forever. This is one hike you should conquer at least once.
Nice little picknick area near the parking and if you keep going up you get to the trailhead to head into the Angeles National Forest / San Gabriel Mountains. Steep trail with nice views over San Gabriel Valley and towards downtown LA. Couple of benches to rest and take in the views along the way.
Visited this wonderful place as a family. My son was thrilled with the wonderful views. He even drew two pictures of the places he liked best. No sooner had we left home than our daughter wanted to come back here for her birthday. We will definitely come back.
What an unexpected trip and treat so close to home. Benji Magoo and I enjoyed ourselves on such a beautiful day ‼
Great park, well. Maintained trails. Public restroom with flush toilets and running water. Picnic tables. Easy parking for 20 or so cars. Respect the neighborhood. This is next to the monastery in Sierra Madre.
The hike was great and rewarding once you hit the top. 3 mile average. Restrooms: Restroom was clean but I suggest you take your own toilet paper and always carry sanitizer. Dog-friendliness: Definitely dog friendly
A lot of cool things on this trail. If you go across the bridge to the right you'll come to a clearing with a couple rope swings! There's also a great area with a fire pit I'd love to use at some point. I had the opportunity to come here with my own wheel and use it in the trail, which was also a blast!
There are hiking trails needs better preparation before to go up , small flatbed for children to play . Restrooms: Small but clean Picnic area: Small
