The Baltimore City Fire Department Honor Guard was established in 1958. The Honor Guard was primarily established to render honors in the event of a line-of-duty-death. Our role has multiplied tremendously.
The Baltimore City Fire Department Honor Guard was established in 1958. It is the deep history of our department which drives its members to serve so proudly for the citizens of Baltimore. Daily, our members are faced with real-life situations which could adversely affect our treasured family, homes and businesses. These same members devote time and energy to several 'extra curricular' entities within the Fire Department. One of these entities is the Baltimore City Fire Department Honor Guard. The Honor Guard was primarily established to render honors in the event of a line-of-duty-death. This is our most sacred of duties. This is the essence of our existence, and role that we do not take lightly. Our role has multiplied tremendously over the years. We participate in many of the formal ceremonies of Baltimore City Fire Department, such as the Memorial Service, Medals Day Ceremony and Graduation Ceremonies. We will participate in Line of Duty ceremonies for members of the Public Safety community, as well as for those Active members of the BCFD. The Baltimore City Fire Department Honor Guard is now requested to perform during parades, conventions, sports events and at the request of the Executive branches of City, State and local government.
The Baltimore City Fire Department Honor Guard's primary mission is to pay respect to fallen Police and Fireman local and abroad.
