We LOVED our birthing experience at Washington Medical. We are so grateful and speechless regarding the process read the whole review! Our doctors Dr. Emarievbe delivery and Dr. Gardener receiving and triaging were OUTSTANDING. Knowledgeable, caring, and wonderful bedside manners. They made us feel at ease and we can honestly say this was the BEST hospital experience we have ever had. I can not thank our RNs enough. Especially Kelsey receiving, Dena delivery, and Margaret post delivery care. These ladies deserve medals. Dena in particular cared for my family as if we were her own. She was absolutely incredible and we were so thankful to have her as our delivery RN. In addition, we also spoke to different staff members during our stay. Alexis RN helped us with nursing. Pediatricians stopped by just to check up on us, and two amazing staff members did my child’s audio assessment and screening. I wish I took better notes on everyone’s names. Five stars. All the way. If you have the chance of delivery here, I would not think twice. Get to know the staff and let them know they are true heroes. If I forgot anyone, I am so sorry. You all are amazing. Love, Lincoln’s parents.
Worst hospital ever.Enduring endless pain I went to the ER for a really bad ankle sprain. Been waiting a little after 5:30 am it’s now 9:58. Triage nurses cold and rude slamming doors loud conve…just being seen in back room and there’s looks like old blood on floor. I hate giving negative reviews but this was a must.
I am a patient of Dr Clifford Solomon and recently under went spinal fusion surgery. Not only is Dr Solomon a gifted surgeon, my stay at the hospital on 5 West could not have been better. Every staff member was kind and professional, giving the right dose of knowledge and patience mixed in with compassion and a bit of optimistic humor. The facilities are gorgeous and state of the art. My private room was bright and comfortable. At age 65 I had never before been hospitalized and I had no idea what to expect. I am overwhelmed and filled with gratitude. I am so thankful I made the decision to have my surgery at BWMC. Thank you to everyone who’s path I crossed. My recovery is going well and it is because of your great team. I am energized and looking forward to good health.
My husband was in excruciating pain for several days, and needed emergency treatment due to a torn rotator cuff. Physician Assistant James Ryan was terrific. He was extremely friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and informative. He immediately put my husband at ease. We felt confident with his treatment plan, in helping my husband to get some relief with his ongoing pain. Walked away very impressed with the overall emergency room experience. Registered nurse Ella, was very detailed with the discharge process. Very caring and professional. Thank you!
Wait time is horrendous. But the nurse-on-duty at the emergency department, Tiffany Paul, went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and well-taken care of. I don't think she sat down at all the entire time I was there 7 hours. She ran from one patient to another and always had a smile on her face. She gladly answered questions and made sure I was taken care of before she left for the day.
I just returned home from an outpatient stay at UM Baltimore Medical Center in Glenn Burnie. I am 86 years old and in my lifetime I have been in many hospitals throughout the North East and the South. I have never had such a wonderful experience as I did today. From the moment I walked up the people I spoke to were kind, caring and very pleasant. My procedure was scheduled for 9AM. The doctor arrived and met me at 7:30AM. Instead of starting my procedure at 9AM the doctor began at about 8:15AM. By 9:30AM it was all over. In the recovery area, I had to lay still for 2 hours. Each person in the recovery area had a private nurse paying constant careful attention to their patient. This was amazing. Check out took about 15 minutes not 2 hours as usually happens. All the nursing staff, in my opinion were outstanding. Thank you all. Paula Gervis
This hospital has lost all its compassion. I have been here for several hours, I have been in a room for over two hours and I have seen no provider, they won't do anything about my pain because I have to see a doctor first! I called that patient advocate line, they are closed already. The nurse told me they are short staffed, wonder if that is because they still don't pay well? Also every bathroom is dirty pee on the floors, poop on the walls, trash overflowing and there was blood on my chair in my room. Oh and BWMC before you respond to me telling me to contact some phone number, just be aware that this isn't the first time I've made a complaint along these lines and I'm sure it won't be the last and I refuse to call your hospital considering you make NO effort to change. I will however continue to make complaints to the state until you guys finally realize that you're doing something wrong. The patients in your emergency room are people not garbage!
I recently took my 96 year old Mom to UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center. After entering through the Emergency Room on a very busy Saturday evening, she was admitted and spent several days in “5 West.” The bottom line is that the staff and hospital were absolutely superb, among the best we've seen. The ER was very busy, and my Mom’s condition wasn’t immediately life threatening, so we did wait for hours as more-urgent cases were appropriately triaged ahead of her. This was not pleasant, but certainly appropriate and understandable. Once seen for treatment, the ER nurses and doctor were superb, both caring and skilled. Sunday morning she was admitted from ER and taken to a bed on 5 West. The facilities were excellent, as was the care she received there. Several staff members stood out over the 4 days, but I won’t name them here because I fear I might forget someone deserving of mention. All of the staff--including the attending physician--did better than other hospitals I've been to was to actively and honestly listen to patient history as they were assessing the case and treating her. This led to both a good outcome, and a shortened hospital stay. I cannot praise or thank them enough for the care they gave my Mom. I would strongly recommend this hospital again for anyone needing health care.
I was there was a lower rating than one. Came to the ER for immediate attention. Was cataloged right away at reception and told I was “on the quicker side to be seen” then four hours later I was finally taken to a back room and told to sit in the chair of a random room. The room was sticky as it was disinfected poorly and I am writing this review while still not having been seen yet. Nurses pay no attention to me even as I step out of my room to catch their eye. Worst hospital ever. Never go here if you can help it.
As far as the actual hospital I would not give 5 stars.. emergency room check in experience was horrible. However after I got to my room the nursing staff was absolute top notch. What had been a terrifying incident for me, the nursing staff were able to relieve my stress and make me feel safe. I ended up on the 6th floor, which is as I found out not typically used, it’s more for the overflow of emergency patients. A dead floor Since the floor was not used all the time they only had experienced nurses running that floor, and man you could tell. The whole team that worked with me were wonderful but I have 2 nurses in particular that stood out to me that I just really want to praise and express my appreciation for, Tiffany & Chang. These ladies were absolutely amazing. The kindness, effort and intelligence they had you could tell they are not just there for the paycheck.. they are there because they care because they want to genuinely help people. In the healthcare business this is exactly what we need. I cant express enough how grateful I am that they were working on that floor during my stay. When I was discharged from the hospital my nurse Tiffany walked me down to the pickup and I couldn’t hold back the tears. I felt like she was my guardian angel.. I only wish the best for her and hope she can have an impact on others as she had such the impact on me. Thank you nurses for everything that you do, seriously you guys the real MVPs.
