My Fate Mate was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer a year ago. We have been together for 20 plus years but based on her circumstances decided that making it official was prudent for various reasons such as medical, financial, and property rights etc.. We obtained the marriage certificate from the County and just needed it to be notarized. So we set up an appointment with this particular Bank of America, including instructions on the purpose of the visit, which was to notarize our marriage certificates. When we arrived at the appropriate time, we waited for about 20 minutes and were finally called in to an office with the Bank notary person. We explained again what the situation called for, but the notary said she had never done a marriage certificate notary and wasn't sure of the process and felt the need to get advice from the bank manager. The bank manager came into the office and we re-explained mansplaining at this point what we were seeking as well as informing him of the cancer situation. He stated that bank policy required that they not only do the notary but the perform a wedding ceremony? I indicated that if that was the bank policy, then he could simply ask if "we do" and we would reply "we did." Short, simple, and easy, right? Of course not. The bank manager said that he had never officiated for the purpose of having a marriage certificate notarized and regardless of my explaining the simplification of the process, he ultimately said that he would not do it based on his own personal decision. As this encounter was now causing angst for the future wife we departed none too happily. We drove 5 minutes down the street to a local UPS Store whereupon they easily completed the notarization process in about 5 minutes at the cost of $15. Conclusion: this particular Bank manager was completely unhelpful, and unsympathetic to our situation. He made a simple, doable process, undoable because of his lack of knowledge of his bank's own services. I strongly recommended to him that he update himself on his own bank policies and procedures so that other people wouldn't be detrimentally inconvenienced as we had been.
I’m really sad that I’ve given this bank such a low rating because banking wise, we’ve always been satisfied. The reason I’m leaving two stars is because this bank has the worst customer service skills. I called to ask a question regarding the block that was placed on our account without our knowledge or permission that stopped us from overdrawing the account. We couldn’t overdraft, but our bills were being extracted from the account even when the payment amount exceeded the available balance and would put our account in the negative. I’m not understanding how that’s any different from us overdrawing ourselves. I was greeted with a very snotty attitude, was constantly interrupted and rather than answering the question I asked, I was repeatedly told about their overdraft policy and why they decided to add the feature without our knowledge or consent. That is very unprofessional and I’m very disappointed with the way I was treated.
It takes tons of work to earn a rating this low. But these guys have earned it. The tax office has a higher rating! Their phone is broken, it must be. There's no way they just stare it and choose not to answer it. . . I hope. In summary, I don't feel comfortable using bank of America knowing that even a single penny of my money is being used to subsidize such a poorly performing branch..... So I will be banking elsewhere.
I would like to first just let you all know that this location has the absolute worst customer relations and just plain rude management that I've ever encountered. The lady who would not cash my unemployment check doesn't even know what she is telling people like me who are just trying to get their money to feed our kids and pay our bills but being lied to by a teller who simply either didn't want to make the call she needed to make to put my money in my hands or she was just ignorant to the fact that all she had to do is pick the phone up and follow what the person said on the other end. She tried to tell me that the unemployment office had not released the funds in their account and there for I needed to call them to issue me another check. I have been waiting for this check over 9 weeks! Someone really should explain to her that she is misinforming her customers which is not only scaring people but also causing major confusion! Her mistake caused my family two more days of pure hell in a time during a pandemic that already has folks on the edge. I know people don't care or understand how this felt because it wasn't their kids wondering why the pantry is empty or why mom is in tears all day and stuck on the phone trying to get answers. I decided to try another location and only had to wait a very short time to allow this teller to make one call and after she returned, she counted my money out to me and smiled while she watched tears of joy and relief following down into my mask! I hope if someone else who might be reading this has had the same issue that I've helped you by my story. Don't listen to these woman and make the drive to the location at Augusta Rd. cause it will save you a lot of frustration and time!!!
You're all correct! They don't answer their phones! I also deposited checks the day by scanning with my phone, and it's supposed to go in the next day, and it's not even showing I did it! I just opened this account, and I'm fixing close it. Should have looked at the reviews before I did it. Choose another bank. Just not Suntrust. There just as bad!
I realize that many folks are inconvenienced at this time during the pandemic, but it is no basis to rate the location with one star. This location has consistently provided great customer service to me and my whole family for years, and continues to try to adapt currently to "new normals". Thinking people would understand this before reactionary posting.
Been on hold for 30 minutes because a payment I made was returned by the bank as undeliverable. THEN I went to a local branch and they were useless and grumpy to boot. They asked if I am sure the address was correct, I said you have the letter right there in front of you. Well maybe the post office messed up. Really? I am so happy I have no other services with this sad excuse for a financial institution.
Very disappointing experience here today. The teller was one of the rudest people I have met in my entire life! Brought in some rolled up change that was neat and organized. The teller basically threw the roll trays and said, " You are going to do this" ! It was only about 20 rolls of quarters. This lady does not need to be working with the public! She is a disgrace to society!!
Everyone at this Bank of America provides exceptional service. Gypsi McCollum helped me to open a bank account and was very thorough in explaining the various services. She is very personable and everyone at the bank seems to appreciate her friendly demeanor. She is one of the top reasons I choose to bank with Bank of America. Thank you Gypsi for making a trip to the bank an enjoyable experience. ~Ken
BOA is one of the worst businesses ever for customer service. The Easley branch has been closed since Friday, Sept. 5th. There is a federal banking law against the bank being arbitrarily closed especially following a federal holiday, but BOA is in enough politicians pockets that they never worry about the law. This bank is run by crooks.
