"New York's best bookstore for and about children" --New York magazine
Bank Street Bookstore opened in 1970 in a small space in the lobby of the Bank Street College. Before long, the bookstore’s success necessitated a move to a larger location on the corner of 112th Street and Broadway. Originally intended as a small store serving the needs of the college community, the bookstore has grown into a resource for the neighborhood and for the community of parents and educators worldwide. The last bastion of bookstores where the books are hand-selected and the sellers know their product.
