Awesome experience. If you are ever in the area this needs to be on your list of things to do. Rich in history and very well preserved.
This place has been an amazing experience since moving to Aiken! History is preserved here and the staff are super amazing to talk and learn from! Do come here regardless of traveling or living near the area.

This Museum always provides a wonderful experience each time I visit it. Where else can you learn about Fred Astaire dancing down the stairs of the former Aiken Post Office? So many interesting stories about our wonderful county. Be sure you share this Winter Colony home with your out of town friends when they visit.
Excellent historical museum. The staff did a great job capturing the history and opulence of Aiken culture. Barnum and Bailey Circus addition is spectacular.
Spent the weekend wandering around Aiken, SC looking at history. The Historical Museum was closed, but I did take some pics for my memoires. Hopefully I will go back for the Banksia tour soon. The mansion grounds are well maintained from the outside. Free parking is available. Will update once I actually do the tour.
There is so much history to learn about. Prepare to spend a couple of hours. There are three floors and so much to see. Beautiful museum.
Absolutely amazing museum. It's like walking into a tardis. So much inside the place. I can't do it justice. Beautiful job, museum crew.

Great place to go and spend a couple of hours exploring a true southern mansion. The inside of the house is incredible. There are many interesting exhibits pertaining to Aiken County. The staff are without a doubt the nicest, most friendly people I have ever encountered. In short, I would definitely recommend visiting this place.
