The family owned bar/restaurant - which is located in Bywater of New Orleans, features local creole cuisine, comfort foods, as well as, selections from a varied Caribbean menu. Everything is homemade and we feature vegan and vegetarian options.
Bar Redux is an art and music centric space, that has become way more than a bar. We have art exhibitions, and have 'Fringe" style events on a regular basis.Our lovely covered patio is the backdrop to a varied showcase of local talent and creativity. We feature live music, burlesque revues, comedy, bingo, poetry, theatre, DJ's, Film screenings, and cabaret... We have a gorgeous outdoor patio area that has a small stage area, and some nice landscaping. A place to relax, sip a cold libation, and listen to the heartbeat of New Orleans!
Inside you'll find a seductively lit bar area dominated by the infamous Arones U-shaped Bar from Minneapolis, MN. This prohibition era-bar was frequented by all the area bootleggers of the day due to it's proximity to Canada and all that fine hooch. Kid Caan and Alvin Karpus have actually bent elbows at this unique deco bar!
Just follow the bright red neon BAR sign mounted on the corner of the building and find your way in. By the way, the sign (like the bar) was also in front of Joe Arones's place post prohibition. Makes you wonder what conversations might have taken place under its crimson glow. to relly experience what new orleans is all about it is well worth the journey to our little place in one of the cultural capitals of the U.S. Laissez le Bon Ton Roulette.
