BACKGROUND:
Barb was raised in the small community of Orinda where she and her family currently reside. After graduating from Miramonte High School, she headed south to attend UCLA and subsequently obtained her JD from Loyola Law School at age 26. After law school graduation, she practiced as a litigator handling general liability and construction defect cases. Her clients included the largest construction company in the US, large property management companies, builders, roofers, electricians, window and truss manufacturers and a multitude of other clients related to the real estate and building trades. Barb has the keen ability to stay cool under pressure. Besides becoming a seasoned successful trial attorney with 15 defense jury verdicts to her credit, law practice allowed her to develop expertise in drafting and interpreting contacts and to become a skilled and confident negotiator.
REAL ESTATE HISTORY:
Real estate has always been part of Barb’s life having grown up in a real estate family. Her mother Maxine was a prominent broker in Orinda and Lafayette for many years. Barb spent summers during college assisting her mother holding houses open and marketing her business. For the past 20 years, she has actively managed family real estate investments in the greater Lamorinda area.
DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE:
Barb’s passion is architecture, interior home and garden design. She has overseen 4 complete home remodels and has assisted numerous clients with interior design, kitchen and bathroom remodels. As a result she has extensive knowledge of local trade resources as well as the permitting and building license process in the Lafayette, Orinda and Moraga area.
