Our firm specializes in the repair, restoration and sales of primarily discontinued telecommunication products, which includes over 35 brands and 1000's of models. Our technical staff have over 100 years of combined experience and their expertise is troubleshooting and repairing telecom devices down to the chip, resistor, capacitor, whatever might be the case. With that extensive experience comes the knowledge of what goes wrong, when and how, which enables us to take preventative maintenance measures during the repair process so the service we provide include upgrades and modifications that will not only fix your device, but extend the life far past the manufacturers life expectancy rate. In addition to our repair and refurbishing services, we have a sales department that can provide you with cost-effective solutions for you with your replacement, expansion or for those unexpected failures that can be very costly when your entire firm is crippled by a major system failure. With our current economy, our solutions can mean the difference between employed or unemployment for someone when the "dust settles" from a catastrophic failure of your business telephone system. Repeatedly, we provide equipment that our customers are told by other vendors " that equipment is not available anymore and you must buy a whole new system", often of which is coming from an authorized dealer of whom is "sales oriented" and must achieve a sales quota which in many situations is not the best solution for your firm. At Barclay, aside from our custom music on hold service we promote, we are not an authorized dealer for any manufacturer, which means we have no quotas to meet or external pressure to promote any one product. This enables us to provide customers with the solution that best suits their needs, and not our pocketbooks and/or a sales quota which is a industry standard and required by nearly all the manufacturers or distributors.
In addition to business telephones, power supplies and their associated circuitry, we provide our services and sales for consumer items too, which include novelty phones, antique or vintage models, answering machines, both digital and the older models that utilize small or large cassette tapes. Another one of our specialties is the repair and restoration of cordless telephones which is an art all in itself considering that they are both telephones and radios of which are exposed to all sorts of environmental hazards from angry teenagers,lonely pets who like to chew on things and that morning nothing seems to go right when you have discovered that your cordless telephone was on the roof of your car, to finding it had been left outside all night and was watered along with your lawn. Some may think that it's no problem, there are plenty of inexpensive cordless telephones to choose from at their local retailers. But often they find that the new models are inferior or do not have the features that their old phone had. This can be troublesome for people that spend a great deal of time on their phone, or for grandma who has vision problems and must use that exact model since they memorized where the keys are and dial from memory and not from sight. This is where our offerings can become invaluable to some, or even detrimental to the standard of living to others.
While were on the subject of cordless phones and dialing, nearly all cordless phones have a common problem where the buttons become worn and/or filthy and may at best work for a few weeks after a good cleaning, or sometimes longer if by chance your able to locate and purchase a new keypad to replace it yourself. But since most manufacturers do not supply parts of this nature, or even new parts are a temporary fix, we developed a practical and cost effective solution, called the Pad Mate, of which we have trademarked and install daily on both cordless phones and desk phones, but we also offer it for the do-it-your type folks, of whom without any technical background or special tools can fix their phone themselves without guidance, or by utilizing our written instructions or following our step by step movie whee they can observe a technician perform the job, while they duplicate the steps to get the job done without any frustration, hardship or destroying their phone in the process.
While we initially created the Pad Mate for telephone button repair, we have discovered that it has other uses by getting feedback from our customers over the years of whom have told us "I buy them to fix alarm keypads" or it works to fix "my car or tv remote control". So, in turn we have sold thousands of them not just within the U.S. but other countries, so were always looking for individuals that have family or friends in other countries that would have interest in becoming Pad Mate dealers so International customers can get them cheaper and faster than us mailing all the orders from the U.S. They travel in a regular envelope, no larger than a regular letter, so anyone could send them from their home with next to no investment on their part. So if you know someone outside the U.S. who has a desire to have a home business, the Pad Mate might be their ticket to financial independence and job security in this unstable global economy. With that said, were always looking for outside sales representatives that could establish business accounts in their local area that would utilize our services. They would receive a residual from each and ever repair or sale order once they establish the account with us. The customer would deal directly with us, and the rep would get a check every two weeks, and at the most make a courtesy call to the customer every few months.
Okay, so we service about every telephone and the phone systems imaginable, but do we stop there? No we don't. Because of our "old school" background when say GTE would send us Panasonic tape driven answering machines that they would "rent" to their customers. Early on it made us proficient in the older mechanical products that can be considerably more difficult to proficiently repair than the standard electronic telephone. So in turn, we also service and sell the older, discontinued Transcription machines, or Transcribers that are still used today by lawyers, doctors, police and transcription professionals. While you may believe their are plenty of digital based recorders being offered, there are plenty of these machines still in use as a standard for many industries.
Another mentionable factor is one of our secrets to success was that we began as a repair facility and did not evolve into service from a sales prospective. That means since we were and still are service oriented, our customer support typically stands head and shoulders above the rest, and when you call us during normal business hours, you get a live person and not a complicated or cumbersome automated attendant that you have to navigate through to maybe find the party you wish to speak to. If you do get our answering system after hours, we have a technician on call 24/7 for major system failures. So when each minute your phones are down is costing you money, were there for you, even if you bought your system elsewhere only to find their number disconnected, or their service after the sale is dysfunctional and you cannot get the assistance you need in a timely manner.
While we cannot make everyone happy, we certainly try, and have a stellar track record doing so. Lastly, another unique factor, and perhaps another ingredient to our success is that our founder and President, as well as our Vice-President,his wife are both U.S. Marines. I say are, since "once a marine, always a marine" and the can do attitude, discipline and natural desire to help others are built within their character and refined over the years to become the very best at what we do. Recently, our owner's injuries from active service have been recognized by the Veterans Administration, and with the departure of our previous "civilian only" board members and owners, it changed the ownership of our firm as 100% Veteran owned which now qualifies our firm as a SDVOSB (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business). While our President is blind in one eye, crippled from back and hand injuries, has a virus contracted overseas that is incurable, ringing in his ears 24/7 and Survivors guilt from his fallen comrades, he still comes to work everyday and complains rarely about his condition, short of some expletives when he bumps into something on his blind side. The blindness is caused from a brain lesion, and he receives a letter each year from the Marines asking how is feeling due to being inadvertently poisoned on three different occasions. But despite his disabilities, he has always risen to the occasion to ensure his staff, his customers and family are well taken care of, and were confident he will continue to overcome these challenges to steer the ship past any troubled waters, or unexpected set backs that may come our way, as he has always done in the past.
In conclusion, we want to thank everyone who has made our success possible, and we forgive the ones that have tried to hinder our success, for they obviously have no JOY in their life. What is JOY? An acronym for the priorities that should be followed in pursuit of a happy and satisfying life. J stands for Jesus, of whom comes first.
