As a Brit this was my first experience of Texas BBQ and what a BBQ it was. The meat was amazing and the beef rib and brisket in particular were sublime. I love trying non-chain restaurants when I travel and I will absolutely recommend this to anyone I know coming to this area of Texas. I met the owner and what a gentleman he was. Passionate about the food he serves and his customers. His staff are also a credit to his restaurant. 5 stars is simply not enough.
Usually like this place but for $75, this time it was not worth it. I would suggest you dine in and eat in the restaurant, the sandwich’s bottom bun was so soggy when I drove 5 mins away. No one could pick theirs up. It was due to the drenched pickles and onions touching the sandwich. The chop beef is good and they are generous with how much meat. The sauce is a sweet and vinegar kind of barbecue sauce. This time the meat wasn’t chopped up enough, very stringy and chewy. The pinto beans, too much chili powder and went a Mexican flavor route. Mac n cheese was good. Dining in is the way to go, the other options like the turkey, sausage and potato salad are good here.
That was some good BBQ! This is the first time I’ve taken home what I didn’t finish. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The sides taste homemade and the mac is super cheesy. They had nana pudding and that made me happy I hate it when I try a bbq place and they are out of it, seems like it happens a lot. The sauce was perfectly sweet and spicy.
From Houston TX visiting Canyon Lake area and Hands down the best BBQ! The Pork Ribs, brisket and jalapeño sausage was amazing. Huge portion 3- meat plate is more than enough for 2 people. For side we got The Mac and Cheese, cole slaw and potato salad all were good. The Baked potato was huge and had a lot of meat in it. Everything was so tasty highly recommend this place! Thanks Bull BBQ!
Great BBQ. Family and I live in Lockhart, so we are inundated with good BBQ. Bare Bull had some tasty food. Meats were smoked well. Sides were delicious.Food: 5/5
A friend recommended this place to me since I was up here at Canyon Lake. I am so grateful that he did. Wonderful brisket and sausage, home cut fries. Had a great lunch. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly environment. Nice restaurant. You can seat indoors or outdoors.
Chopped brisket sandwich which wasn't brisket and brisket Philly which was. Neither have any flavor at all. BBQ sauce is literally thin as water. Fries were soggy and old. Macaroni salad also was flavorless other than huge chunks of celery. For 2 sandwiches, 1 order of fries and a side of Macaroni salad $41 way over priced for what you get. Literally not even going to eat it. 10/10 do not recommend if this is their normal. Also they had to call someone in order to print an itemized receipt bc I payed cash. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but this was awful. I should have known better when I pulled up at peak lunch time hour and all of the employees were on the front porch.
This restaurant gets five stars for the atmosphere, service, and the food. I was traveling with four kids and was very grateful for the extra help I received. When they brought our food out, they helped me with a highchair, extra plates, and came back to check on us even as they were busy helping other customers. It is nice to eat somewhere you know those working care to go the extra mile to help those that need a little more. The food was good as well. I had the firefighter and it was good. All the food was tasty and even one loved the Mac and cheese and sausage. The restaurant was well cleaned and so were the bathrooms.
Did not disappoint. We picked up a chopped beef sandwich and a Big D sandwich to go. First of all presentation was great. Usually you just see sandwiches wrapped in a wrap, all messy, and thrown in the bag. Not here. They were in plastic to go boxes, with the fix’ns sitting pretty. Second, so much meat on the sandwiches. And when I say meat, I mean meat. Not fat. Taste is really good too. Bang for your buck for sure. The place was cute and clean inside, from what I saw. Young lady at the register was very nice. 5 stars, nothing less.
The food is great, they really give you a good amount of meat, which I appreciate. Service has always been friendly and fast. I just feel it's priced a little bit high. It's my second choice because of that.Food: 5/5
