In staying in the Area, this was the family favorite beach to hit, and went several times during our stay in the area. It does cost to get in, but to avoid the crowds at Fort Myers, it was worth it. When you are heading there it will feel like you are lost, trust the directions and keep going! Long stretch of beach to explore! Was very clean and clear of debris/garbage. Well maintained. There was a limited food option if you didn't pack food, or grab ice cream for the littles. I will warn that bathrooms a little bit of a walk from the beach area if you have littles with.
Bonita springs is between Fort myers and Naples. Not much crowded.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This beach is great. There are limited public restrooms but they are available. This is a “hidden gem” that many of the locals visit and the cost of admittance is $8.00 per vehicle. Bring snacks and water and be prepared to walk a bit for the restroom. There are rinse off stations available and wheelchair access. There is a food stand on site too. This place is a must visit if you’re a local or visiting the area. In order to get to this place, you do have to travel through an HOA neighborhood.
It is true, this is one of the most beautiful beaches I've visited in America. The only fee you have to pay is $10 parking and you enjoy a full day of white sand, clear water and the most beautiful sunset eve.rVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
This beach is a hidden gem. Not overly crowded. At first, we thought we were going the wrong way because you have to go through a gated, rich neighborhood to get to the beach. You get your parking ticket through a pay meter, just $10. The preserve closes at sunset and the rangers will let you know. There are golpher tortoises out and about so make sure you make sure they are not under the car or that you're driving too fast. Lots of beautiful shells to collect, different types that we couldn't find on Sanibel Island. We spent a lot of days at this beach. Definitely our favorite in Naples/Ft. Myers area.
We loved this beach!!!! The best part was the 'hidden' path. Parking is $8 to get in and you can pay at the lot too. Once you go past the hut, my recommendation would be to go to the third lot all the way back. There were not as many people! If you pull all the way to the back of the 3rd lot where it starts to loop around, you'll see a white gate and a big dumpster. Go past those and you'll find a hidden path! It's about a 1.5 mile walk surrounded by trees, but also had hidden access to the beach along the way. When we were there, we saw many gopher tortoises that was fun for the kids! Be careful and don't park on the areas they have blocked off. The sand is perfect for making sand castles! The water was clean and we did see some park rangers checking on the place from time to time.
Best natural beach in collier county…very good amenities and crystal clear water …great beautiful beach with lots of wildlife to spot…it also has boardwalk to stroll around and watch wildlife…you can almost always spot turtles and in the water many fishes…it’s also great place to enjoy snorkeling and watching fishes…my experience is that you can spot lots of fishes and wildlife if you come in the the morning …best beach to enjoy nature and relax…hope you have a great time at barefoot beach county preserve!!!!
Beautiful, serene, excellent beach/Preserve!! There is an $8 entry fee per car which is a much better deal than $5 an hour for parking at other nearby beaches. Sand is white and powdery. The area is not crowded in early morning and gets busy around 10:30/11 a.m. I am an avid sheller and the beach yields beautiful bounty for those who like to walk a mile or more to seek treasures!
Long stretch of beautiful wide soft sand beach. Lovely shaded trail for easy walking through the seagrapes, mangroves, gumbo limbo and palms. And had most of it to ourselves!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Barefoot Beach is probably my favorite beach and we have walked them all many times here in SW Florida. Lots of great shelling and to the south is Wiggins Pass with lots of views and boats of all sizes . There is a mile long nature trail but the nice beach is the real draw. Concessions for beach and water play items. Restrooms and some food items. Lots of parking but it does get full in high season especially around the holidays. Interesting drive through a mile or two of luxury homes and condos to get to the parking entrance. You will like this beach. We were there on August 19 and a conservationist was doing checks of the turtle nests 3 days after the main hatching looking for baby turtles stuck in the nest and counting shells to see how many were hatched. Very Interesting.
