For the discerning public, a place that provides an opportunity to partake in and own truly one-of-a-kind, unique and collectible works of art.

On the corner of Bedford Avenue and North 4th Street in the heart of Williamsburg’s bustling, energetic and eclectic world of food, fashion and fine art a distinctive new gallery has opened — Barking Lizards. Established and owned by long-time residents of Williamsburg, Wanda and Richard Drake, the gallery draws together fine art and craft from throughout the country and the world. Unusual and highly wrought works in fiber, metal, wood and mixed media enliven this iconoclastic outpost and distinguish it fromthe ordinary outlets of artistic expression.
As artists, their skilled eye for detail and their understanding of the creative process has enabled them to gather the distinctive efforts of many fine artists and craftspeople and to offer those artists a window to the world. For the discerning public, such a window provides an opportunity to partake in and own truly one-of-a-kind, unique and collectable works of art.
No brief summary would be quite complete unless it suggested that to enter Barking Lizards Gallery is to experience a cessation of time, a suspension of the street bustle that has come to mark the frenzied pace of 21st Century life. Barking Lizards is a tranquil, warm and very inviting locale, a proper setting for all who desire to find those items in life which help make the journey serene.
