Amazing place. The service is excellent. The food is amazing. Great atmosphere and amazing scene. By far the best Ethiopian restaurant in Atlanta area.
BEWARE! This place is AWFUL! I was the only person in the restaurant around 6pm, dinner time on a Friday night, which should have been my first clue to leave, but traffic was bad and I was hungry, so I stayed. The workers were too busy chatting amongst themselves and flipping through the channels on the TV to check on me, so I had to interrupt them whenever I needed something, water, napkins, etc. The meal itself was lacking as usually Ethiopian food comes in fair portions with a variety of veggies and sauces in addition to whatever meat you order, but this place was also cheaper than other places, so I guess a smaller portion should have been expected. The biggest problem I have with this place is the character of the owner. I don't give a 20% tip when I feel that the service wasn't great, so I only gave about 15%. The owner/waiter grumbled when he took my bill and saw my tip, but imagine my surprise when I see my credit card bill and notice that a round amount had been added to my total bill! I would consider it a genuine error if it was some variant of my actual tip, but no, my tip was changed completely and made a rounded out, even amount, more than double what I wrote. I absolutely believe this was done intentionally and if the character of this man is to provide poor service then change the tips of his patrons, imagine what shortcuts are taken with the food, prep, cleaning, etc.
Amazing food, very friendly! Definitely returning.
This place is the most amazing ethiopian restaurant I have been in Atlanta. Food is very authentic. Love the environment. They have the best macchiato.
I have to say that I really love the food here. Super delicious and tasty. It's very flavorful and there are so many dishes to choose from. One of the best spots in Atlanta to get some quality and healthy Ethiopian food. I highly recommend them.
The food is amazing. It is very cultural and the inside of the building reminds me of Ethiopia. The food is delicious, and there is a variety of different foods. There are also vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The customer service is great. The parking is also very convenient. Overall I enjoyed everything about Barkot, and plan to oftenly visit.
One of the few places we can find authentic Ethiopian food. It's home made like test and very friendly service. Super clean and cozy spot with fairly priced menu.
If you are looking for an authentic Ethiopian food, this place for you. Amazing Ethiopian food and outstanding customer service. The place is conveniently located near major highways and there are plenty of parking near the restaurant. A must try include veggie combo and lamb tibes. I will certainly go back!
I had not been to an Ethiopian restaurant in a while and I had forgotten how good the food is. Barkot is a nice find in a little shopping center along Buford Highway just south of North Druid Hills Road. I actually just pulled in the parking lot of the shopping center so I could take my phone out and look for a restaurant nearby. Then I saw Barkot sitting right there, so I went in. The service was friendly, the price was good, and best of all, the food was really tasty. The veggie plate and ingira bread hit the spot. The small veggie plate was plenty for me. The menu said it was the lunch veggie plate, but they let me order it at dinner. I recommend this place. It's not fancy inside, but if you put the food on your head, your tongue would knock you out trying to get it.
Great food, great service, no complaints here. We were kindly greeted and they were polite throughout the experiexpe and was able to make delicious recommendations. Definitely recommend if you're looking for some cultural experience.
