Barkwoods Kennel

After being referred to this place, I contacted them for a visit/pet assessment via text twice as being told it was the preferred communication method by a current customer, and both times message was ignored; even though their website advertises that their system allows TEXT. I can't imagine being on travel and wanting to know about your pet and not get a response. Very disappointing. Not sure how current customers deal with this.

Jessica and Carol were amazing with our boy....he's a large 1yo Rott....we went to 2 kennels in the area and were told they didn't think he'd do well or fit in....he's never been away so he was a little skiddish....we were referred to Barkswoods, and stopped by....from the start they greeted him and gained his trust...a few days later, we left him for an overnight stay and he did great. We went on vacation and he stayed 8 nights....they were great with him. Thank you again for taking care of my boy Definitely will recommend them...and will be trusting them with our Nero

Absolutely love bringing 'Cane here .. well worth the hour drive each way ... They are always so friendly and treat 'Cane as if he was their own as soon as we pull in the driveway he goes crazy trying to get out of the car to get inside ... I am VERY particular about who's around 'Cane and they are the ONLY place I will leave him ... Anyone looking for a great place to leave your pup or cat, I HIGHLY recommend Barkwood! You wjnt be disappointed!!

The quality of care my dog receives here is unmatched. The owners are truly knowledgeable, compassionate and go out of their way to make sure my dog is extremely well taken care of and that I am confident and comfortable leaving her there. She now needs fluid injections for kidney issues and Jess and Carol even did that! My dog Coconut looked happier and healthier when I picked her up then when I dropped her off! They are just wonderful, professional and the best kennel ever!!

We’ve used Barkwoods a few times and they’ve always taken good care of our dog. On our last visit, we were admittedly 20 minutes late getting in to pick her up and were assessed a late fee - which was completely understandable. The passive aggressive comments and poor attitude was not.

We've been taking our Emma to Barkwoods for nearly ten years and have always been thrilled with the grooming and the loving care she gets. My ONLY negative would be that the kennel does sit in a wooded area and could be difficult to find. Great staff, though!

Both Freddie & Jake, who are a handful, were well taken care of and came home happy boys! They hadn’t been kenneled in a very long time and when they got home, except from being tired from playing, we would have never known they were away from us. Loved being able to see pictures of them while on vacation, too!
