So, my boyfriend and I first ate here for dinner than i returned in the morning for breakfast. This restaurant is part of The Williams Inn and excellent pairing as well. The barn meets American rustic design was perfect in this countryside area of Massachusetts. Our server, Diane was knowledgeable about the menu and all cocktails! We appreciated her suggestions and took went with a cauliflower appetizer amazing and a pasta dish. She was very attentive to us. For breakfast, Kimmy was welcoming, jovial and mentioned me trying the French toast before even walking into the entrance. She knew I was starving:. I got to sit in the back this time and look out the long windows into the yard. Beautiful. Both Kimmey and Virginia were attending me and cheerful. It is a pleasure to be around this attitude. I did have the French toast and have to say that the coffee here is delicious. The outdoor seating is just as abundant as indoor seating and wraps around entire restaurant. There is an attractive fire stone put with plenty of rocking chairs around. So we enjoyed this area after dinner the night before. This is a great place to dine!
Atmosphere is nice but the food is not the best and pretty overpriced for what you’re getting. We were convinced to get the short ribs as the waiter said they’d “melt in your mouth” which they definitely did not. We paid over $90 for two people with one drink, no apps, and a salad as our other meal aside from the short ribs. If the food was great I wouldn’t care about the price but we were underwhelmed.
The restaurant staff was very attentive after we voiced out feeling cold in the restaurant it was a cold day. She adjusted the blower and had the heat on higher. Food was excellent, from warm bread w/ whipped butter to delicious starter of brussel sprouts, along w fish and chips and steak for entrees. The ambience atmosphere and spacious space were excellent. Will def be back when we are visiting the area.
Fantastic experience! I dined at the bar of The Barn while in town as a stop on a road trip… so glad I did! Not only was the food delicious, but the service was outstanding. I had the vegan curry and it was well-balanced and perfectly spiced. The apple crisp was also great! The staff made me feel like I was right at home with them. I will be back next time I’m in the area!
The barn wants points for ambiance and great overall atmosphere. The tables were well spread apart and staff checked in from a respectful distance. The menus are clearly labelled and they offer vegetarian and vegan dishes. The appetizers were exceptional. We recommend the brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and calamari be prepared that they all have a lot of flavor and a bit of spice. The main courses were decent, but the beyond burger was a bit overcooked for me. All in all, solid experience.
The Barn is beautiful inside and out. Unfortunately like many places these days, there was only 1 waitress, with the manager helping bus tables and bring out food. However my review is not based on that, but on the meal. We started with the truffle fries, which I highly recommend. My sister and I both ordered the penne alla vodka, and my mother ordered the hummus gyro. My mother was very pleased with her meal. My sister and I agreed that our sauce was lackluster and very acidic, but the portion size was good. Considering it is a very small menu, I would hope everything else would be good. If you're in the area, I would still say it's worth a shot.
Nice restaurant with comfort food. Surprising good oysters. Wish menu had healthier options. Salmon dish was average.Food: 4/5
We stayed overnight at the hotel and had dinner and breakfast here. Both times the cuisine was really good spec. the Faroe salmon for supper and the omelet du hour for breakfast. Special mentions for crème brûlèe, the New England cider and our tireless morning waiter Kimmy. For breakfast we brought our 10 month-old and the staff was very helpful and supportive. All in all a great experience. Will come again!
The barn and kitchen is truly one of my favorite places to eat. I enjoy the scenery, the ambiance of the building, and the service is always outstanding. I had made reservations for my birthday in February, but due to unforeseen circumstances it was rescheduled for whenever I’d like . John Varner reached out and apologized left and right. He told me he would make it up to me and let me tell you I was not disappointed. I was able to go and enjoy my late birthday brunch with everything on the house . Thank you to John and the amazing staff . I cannot wait to return next month to celebrate my anniversary.
The staff was kind, friendly, and they deserve to be praised for the way they treat their guests. I enjoyed all the food and the drinks made by Greg were also great! The two people running the host stand tonight were also amazing and I hope that they are recognized for their kindness. Thanks for a wonderful experience! 10/10
