Not bad not bad. Not amazing, too expensive, but if you want anything decent you don't have a lot of choices. I expected a super good meal, comfortable, but I was just not quite there. The chairs at some of these tables had super low backs, so you couldn't lean back. They sat us in the middle, even though we had reservations and we're literally the first people there, which is never good. They did not have the beer I ordered, which is typical for me. Then the pretzel was dry and boring for sure, with the beer cheese being watered down and bland, and the mustard being straight from the fridge, cold and all. My meal, the mushroom pasta, was pretty good, really, not super amazing, but, still pleasant. The steak was good, better than long horn the night before. And the kid loved his taco meal. It was his birthday and they brought him and ice cream and a song. Everyone was nice. Our cookie desert was good, so it was a lot but it was a lot better than the fast food that you can find in the rest of the place. So, definitely overpriced, by at least 25%, but that's a bit expected. I'd go back, as you don't have much of a choice. Oh yeah, and get a reservation.
We ate here while we were staying at great wolf lodge for a few days. I first have to say, the staff was amazing and super attentive! It was nice to not have to leave to have some yummy food! The calamari was by far one of the best calamari I've ever had! I mean it had the whole body of the squid in addition to the crispy fried rings! The dipping sauce was a perfect balance of tart and creamy. The artichoke dip was really good and portion was perfect! The chicken and cheese quesadilla was amazing and literally lasted 5 seconds. my daughter got the soup and the portion was huge!! My husband got the loaded Mac and cheese and it was very good! The littles got their favorite burger and grilled cheese but they raved about the fries! The kids wanted a dessert and opted for the strawberry shortcake. What they thought they were getting was a stacked shortcake like you'd traditionally find in a restaurant....however what they got exceeded their expectations and had they known how huge it was, they would have shared. Also our waitress was lovely and took an extra few minutes to talk to my 7 yo about Legos for about 10 mins, which made his night! If we lived closer I would go to the restaurant even if I wasn't staying on property.
Originally I was going to put 1 star but kuddos to the manager and sweet hostess for their great customer service. I had placed a to go order for the Quinoa Salad. The rest of my family was eating pizza so I thought we had planned it perfectly. I placed my order at 5:45 and was told come back 25-30. When I can back she said they didn’t start on it. She then told me to come back in 15. I came back again and it still wasn’t ready. I waited over an hour and asked again. The manger came out and apologized telling me they started the app and the kitchen was overwhelmed. She then gave me a discount on my dinner. I was thankful she realized waiting over an hour when I was told 25 min wasn’t okay. Dinner was great! I would def eat here again. Hopefully they get the times worked out so others aren’t waiting so long.
Great food for a fancy night out at Great Wolf Lodge. The steak with chimichurri sauce and parmesan garlic fries were great as was the cheeseburger.Food: 5/5
Great appetizers and atmosphere. For a restaurant nestled in a family amusement location, Barnwood is the way to go. The kids loved the activity menu and the Mac and cheese. The adults enjoyed the drinks.
We made reservations at 615pm for their Christmas Prix Fixe dinner. I understand that they didn't know they would be short staffed and should have not taken so many guests for Christmas at the lodge in general. But they never informed us when we checked into the lodge that the restaurants were so under staffed. The reservations for dinner only started at 5pm. And as they seated us, they finally told us the Christmas dinner special menu was no longer available because their kitchen was so behind, barely an hour after starting service for the night. Honestly, this is unacceptable for the price of the lodge and the fact that I made these reservations in advance. Especially since they were highlighting this special Christmas menu and dinner all over their website and app. And not only is the Christmas dinner unavailable now, but the kitchen is already 45 mins to an hour behind schedule. Again this is only an hour after their dinner service has started. And, of course, I still have to pay for this dinner that I no longer want. The regular menu is not want I wanted for Christmas dinner and cannot make alternate plans now because it's Christmas and everywhere else is full and not accepting additional reservations. Sure we got free cake which I cannot eat because I have gluten allergies and did not ask for it anyways, literally have several pieces just sitting on our table uneaten because they just brought it out without asking but they should have informed guests as soon as they realized they could not keep up or have not taken so many reservations. I am so utterly disappointed and angry. I would have rather ordered pizza and salad for myself honestly at this point. This is the worst Christmas dinner my family and I have ever had in my entire life. This was suppose to be a special dinner for a special holiday trip which we have already paid a lot for. Money doesn't grow on trees and maybe some people don't care, but we work hard for our money and it means a lot to us for when we pay for meals and trips. However, our waitress was fantastic tho and I cannot fault her for what has happened. But the restaurant should seriously be ashamed and maybe rethink how they operate. I really am so disappointed in the food and our treatment in general. I would not recommend this restaurant at all, maybe ever. Even the food we finally got, was not worth the price at all.
It was a busy night and we were only able to find a 9:30 PM reservation. The food took forever to come and we were hungry. We were patient. I order the full ribs. No taste at all. The sauce tasted like store bought sauce they just poured all over. The steak was burnt. Honestly save your money and just go to “Buckets” which serves burgers, etc. I paid $33 for ribs. I set my expectation way to high.
The staff and the food at barnwood were phenomenal. The receptionists and our server were so sweet and the crew that brought our food to the table. It was wonderful experience there. I was worried from the other reviews it would be a disappointment, but it was actually fantastic. My sister and I shared the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle and it was so delicious! We had the calamari app and my two older sons had the 16 oz. Bone-in Ribeye and the little ones got hamburgers, chicken fingers and grilled cheese. Everything was literally perfect, so thank you again, it was one of the highlights of our stay.
I took my grandkids to Great Wolf Lodge for Christmas. I had visions of a wonderful sit down dinner at Barnwood. They had a limited menu that was pretty expensive but it promised to be wonderful. It was Christmas, so what the heck, I decided to splurge. When we checked in the hostess took all my room info then sat us in a chilly, sparsely decorated alcove. It took so long to be acknowledged that I thought they forgot about us. Finally, a man dropped off napkins with silverware but he never introduced himself and he left as quick as he came. Quite a while later the nameless man came back for our order. Not only was he nameless, he was also personalitiless. More waiting for our drinks. The drinks were unceremoniously dropped off at the table and given to the wrong recipients. We never received our cornbread, which was something we were all looking forward to. I was the only one to order the minestrone. Basically it was tomato soup with pasta, no lovely beef broth with vegetables and chunks of beef. More waiting. Then out of the blue someone came and dropped off 2 pieces of red velvet cake to make up for the long wait on the food. I thought this was stupid because I did not want to eat cake before my meal. Our dinner finally came. The food was actually quite good but that was the only good thing. Suddenly our waiter appeared and asked if we needed anything else. I said, "Our desserts would be nice but other than that no. " Apparently he saw the cake on the table and thought we got our desserts. I told him to just bring my cheesecake and 1 more red velvet and we'd be fine. He brought those 2 things then slaps a bill on the table for almost $250! I was sick. I work hard for my money and honestly I get better service at McDonald's for a lot less money. Never, ever would I recommend this over priced restaurant that has zero customer service. Come on people! We are at Great Wolf Lodge! We paid huge money to stay here. We deserve Disney customer service! This whole place needs to be revamped if they plan to stay in business.
Don't even attempt to come here. The service is beyond awful, slowest I have ever experienced. 1 hour after placing our order for appetizers we told our waiter to cancel the order. We asked for drink refills which never came and we also requested salt and pepper that never came out either. They did end up comping us the entire bill, but I still would never go back - especially for the money you pay to spend a night at the lodge. The manager acknowledged the issues we experienced and apologized - but this place is just awful.
