Staying for 2 nights at the lodge we’re just what we needed. This park is well maintained, staff is very friendly and helpful, the lake is very pretty. We hiked, fished, enjoyed the evening outside watching the sunset. There are a lot of deer to see. They have a bike path, golf course, hiking trails, a stable. The room is a little rustic but clean. There is no fridge or microwave. We brought a small cooler to keep cold water in. Overall, it was 2 of the most relaxing, peaceful days I have had in a long time. We highly recommend this park for a day or a longer stay.
The park is tricky to navigate. Our spot was 79A. All the spots on this side are off level. Way off level. Sire 79A was so off level that we couldn't use our chairs. We just used the picnic table provided. There was a camper van near us that had their front tires almost 3 ft off the ground to get level. The water hook up was 50ft away from our city water inlet and we needed to go buy a longer water hose just to access it. The electricity was close. They have a dump station, showers & laundry on site. It's not too far from restaurants and activities located in Glasgow. The only plus the site had was shade. Playground: Nice play area for kids Restrooms: Multiple restroom locations, nice and clean Dog-friendliness: Plenty of pets Picnic area: Picnic tables at each site. There is a pavilion just outside of the camping area.
Clean and nice bathhouse. We have a beautiful full shade site. Wifi! Totally great camp experience. Campers are respectful and staff helpful and courteous.
Ww just stepped out for a few hours of relaxing at the lake. The atmosphere was nice and the area was clean. The rocks are a bit sharp. But other than that, we enjoyed the day. Playground: There isn't a playground
I visited this state park and was truly captivated by its natural beauty. The park offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The lush greenery, well-maintained trails, and scenic views make it an ideal spot for hiking and picnicking. The park's staff was friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful getaway, this state park is a must-visit.
Beautiful place! Budget friendly. Dog friendly. The restrooms were clean. Lots picnic areas.
Everyone.... literally everyone that works here.... was extremely friendly, outgoing and helpful. From the ladies at the front desk, to the restaurant hostess and servers, to Leslie and the folks at the bar/lounge... even the park rangers were quick with a smile and a kind word. We love Barren River Lake State Resort Park!!
An older lodge, but still clean. When we arrived our room smelled like stale cigarettes and smoke, even though it is a non smoking room. Below is a picture from our deck. If the Lodge would cut these two trees, the view from all lodge rooms would be stunning. Picnic area: Lots of playgrounds and picnic areas throughout the park. Beautifully landscaped.
Great place to take the whole family we rented a pavilion for a family reunion it was really nice and then we drove over about a mile to the nice Lake with a beach really nice.
Overall this park was beautiful. The lodge was nice. The staff at check in was wonderful. The lady knew what she was doing and knew what was going on all around. As far as the two older ladies that work nights in the restaurant, they were not so friendly. One was at the hostess stand and the other was rolling silverware. We were there with a big group. The staff knew our schedule for eating. Both nights the group came in the lady at the hostess stand would huff and puff and get upset. As far as pushing the tables together super hard. We didn't need one huge table set up and throwing the silverware to each spot and flinging the menus out to each spot. Now we arrived at 7:00 night one and 7:30 night two. We were aware the buffet closed at 8 and the restaurant closed at 9. We were ok if they closed the buffet at 8. We still are unsure why they were so upset. I would recommend putting them somewhere out of the view of the public. It was nonsense to act that way. The group was not loud or messy at all.just that area needs touching up. There was a server there and she said she was from Canada. She was AMAZING and friendly. She had people skills. Maybe she should train the other ladies how to treat public.
