Martial Arts for the aspiring Gentleman and Lady
We are a group of martial arts enthusiast dedicated to the preservation and evolution of Bartitsu, a Victorian era martial art developed by E. W. Barton-Wright. Made famous by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as the lost martial art of Sherlock Holmes, Bartitsu combines Asian and European fighting methods into a complete, well rounded discipline. Barton-Wright's curriculum included Japanese grappling, English Boxing, French foot fighting, and Swiss cane fighting.
For a detailed history of Bartitsu, visit Bartitsu.org, the homepage of The Bartitsu Society.
